I'm kind of shocked you'd consider doing that. Wouldn't the "actual" mileage be in question if it was out of the car? My 69 Firebird 350HO convertible 4-speed has about 55K original miles. I bought a set of the "Speed minder" gauges for it, just because it's an extremely rare option. If I installed them, even with the original idiot light gauges, the originality of the mileage may be questioned, so I sold them this year. I do have an original set of stacked gauges with the original PCB dated 1969 for it, and if I install those no one is going to care that the originality is in question. Through all my travels combing junkyards in the mid 80's and car shows, I've only seen one set of original stacked gauges, and it was in a Ram Air car. I realize the gauges you guys are talking about look cool, but in a SD car?

Speaking of idiot lights, they rock. How often do you really watch the gauges to monitor the engine? If you do get caught up in driving and not check them for a bit, they'll let you know something need attention NOW! You typically have dial gauges too, so one vote for idiot lights.
