Best Gasket Rear Main DIY Tool

Hey guys,
I will be installing the Best rope seal in my build and I was wondering what the DIYers are using to pack it into the block and cap? I found a Kent Moore J7588 but it’s like $250.
What are you using, just a 3” piece of pipe?
