Default Inverted flare union yea or nay

What started out as a need to bleed brakes (power drums) turned into a bigger job than I wanted to do at this time. Bleeders were frozen (replacing all wheel cylinders) The flare fittings were rusted to the brake lines and no amount of heat or solvent were going to free them so rear brake lines twisted/kinked so I replaced them.
Right front went ok but left front brake lines broken where it meets brake hose. I plan on a disc brake upgrade this winter with complete front end bushings, new lines, etc overhaul.
Question is how bogus is an inverted flare union to section in the front line to get it back on the road ASAP.
Thanks
