As a general rule, Tony doesn't go looking for a fight on the track(any more) but he WILL NOT let anyone get away with pushing him around either.

I cannot count how many times Tony has instigated something just because somebody was racing him hard. Not because they tapped him or spun him out, but because they raced him hard. Like when he ran Kenseth off the track at Daytona. He said he couldn't believe Matt was racing him that hard. So he puts him off the track at 200 MPH. I may not have driven a roundy rounder, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see how upset Tony got from somebody racing him hard. Matt never touched him, and it pissed Tony off that Matt was beside him and took the air off his nose. I thought this was racing? Was Matt supposed to stay behind Tony when Matt had a faster car. Like I said, back then I was a Tony fan, but running somebody off the track at 200 MPH on purpose put a lot of lives in danger and I can't pull for an idiot.

Also Sirrotica, re-read Sleepy's post. (Anymore) is pretty visable. Looks like 2 and 2 to me. At least Sleepy remembers the out of control Tony unlike some selective memories.

As a rookie and for a few years after Yes tony was a "billy bad ass" on the track. Just like every one of the top drivers,He was "tame" compared to some of the "old school" drivers and came into that crowd having to "earn his bones" or be slapped around every race. He continued that too long and nearly lost his ride and sponsor over it.
You can't really judge what he is NOW by what he did before the slap down. He's NOT the same snot nosed brat he was years ago. EVERY driver goes through the same thing tony did to SOME degree, SOME like tony take a little longer and a harder boot in the rear to settle down than others.

BOB, Are you Yiddish by any chance?.................
![]() No one's bashing your fair haired child so just let it drop your views aren't shared by everyone here. I'll just let Sleepy speak his own mind and everyone can make up their own mind about what he said. I know he's wheeled a race car a time or two so he and I probably see eye to eye on drivers. How many laps do you have behind the wheel of a race car, as opposed to hours watching it in your living room again? It's not selective memory, it's facts and someone who has never driven a race car sees the circumstances completely different. Sleepy and a few others that have some laps in a car will vouch for that. If you bothered to read my early posts here, I wrecked a few people on the track too, I was also in my 20s at the time so maturity usually will catch up with everyone in all facets of their lives. We all think we're right and invincible until we find out differently. One more thing is you have no idea if a driver is settling a score from a few minutes before, a week ago or a year ago, that happens and unless you have a Vulcan mind meld or have some divine gift, you have no idea of what transpired before someone got dumped, no matter who did what you didn't see everything unfold on TV, you can take that to the bank. You need to answer me this one question, who's fault was it in the Hornish, Patrick skirmish and did NASCAR handle it right?

Hornish is currently #4 in the points in the Nationwide Series with 265 points, a top 5 and 3 top 10 finishes. Sam's average finish this year is 11.6. Danica is in 11th place with 187 points - only 7 points ahead of Trevor Bayne who has missed 3 of the 8 races. Danica has only 1 top 10 finish (8th) - and that was only because 2 late race cautions allowed her to (1) get back on the lead lap and (2) pit and take tires with no loss of position. Danica's average finish this year is 20.9... Danica isn't good enough to carry Sam's jock - and I'm NOT trying to say that Sam is the greatest driver in NASCAR... |

I think your version of Tony Stewart is highly modified from the real version. |

Danica DOES get special treatment, there's no doubt about that. NASCAR claims that they didn't reprimand either driver because "...both drivers had a clean history in the Nationwide Series, and no prior incidents".
How many times has NASCAR called other drivers to their hauler for intentionally wrecking someone? This wasn't a case of Danica driving up next to Hornish, then swerving to send him into the wall. She came up behind him, and shoved him hard enough to turn him into the wall at a 45-degree angle, all at 160 mph. I'm not saying Danica should be fined, or have points docked, but seriously, not even a WARNING for what she did? If that was ANY other driver nerfing Hornish, you can bet yer butt they would have walked those steps into the NASCAR hauler. And imagine if that was the other way around? What if Hornish dumped Patrick in the same way? It would be headline news right now, on every newscast, every sports channel, probably on "The View", as they discuss how men "bully and beat up women", how NASCAR is a "boy's club", and how poor, diminutive Danica Patrick was almost killed by an aggressive, overbearing man. Hornish DID get the appropriate nickname "Swervin' Sam" for a reason, as he likes to gradually move over in order to block a passer, but I agree, Sam Hornish Jr. is in a different league than Danica, not even close.

Hornball pushed her into the wall and she let him know he wasn't going to get away with it. I'd bet Tony told her "Don't let him do that to you, Hit him back". and probably told her HOW to hit him.

I'd be curious to know where she learned that move, you don't do that in open wheeled cars and it was executed as good as anyone could have done it, unless it was beginners luck.
I know she raced go karts and from what I've heard she and Hornish have always had no love for each other. I've never heard that she ran any type of stockcars in here career, if she did I'm sure it would have been on the media either before the incident or since. |

Actually the media has hyped it up so much and compared it with KB's hammering Hornaday last fall that she is indeed going to be summoned to the NASCAR trailer at Darlington this coming weekend.
I believe that it was due to many outcries because anyone else would already have had their tongue lashing by now. |

Danica is NOT that bad of a driver, she really isn't. Still takes a lot of talent to drive a NASCAR car or an IndyCar, and she obviously has the talent. But she's an average race car driver, that's all. What will NOT settle well for NASCAR fans is if she gets preferential treatment because of her star status. Same rules for all drivers, including women. So that includes Biffle.

I'll add my
![]() Tony isn't nearlly the hot head behind the wheel that he once was, don't know if the anger management class helped with that, or if it's because he is the owner of his car now. I always enjoy when Tony talks with the media, it always makes me laugh, in the paper it said dale jr had to cover part of his face when they were interviewing Tony, because he was starting to laugh at stewarts remarks to the media. As Sirrotica said drivers never forget and will eventually get even, mite not be the next race, but it will happen. I got a few to settle the score with myself. ![]() I wish they had a better view of the front of sams car to see if he did have a flat tire or not, I thought he was just blocking her and ran her up into the wall, but it was stupid of her to do what she did, especially at that high of speed. I was hopeing that they wouldn't suspend her for darlington so we could see how well she can drive compared to everyone else. My guess if she finishes it will be 28th 2 or 3 laps down

It was a RR tire that shredded on Hornish's car (not the RF as was previously reported according to Racehub) and because it was Talladega he was riding on the inner liner (there was evidence in the video that the RR tire was coming apart from contact with another car 1 lap earlier), plus he just got a push from Sadler coming off of 4 and he said he had trouble keeping the car straight and squeezed her into the wall, he took full responsibility for that, but said there was nothing he could do to stay off of her car because of running on the liner. From what I heard on SPEED she watched the video and apologized to Hornish via phone call. Thing is the race was over as Hornish pointed out when he squeezed her and he had nothing to gain at that point they were past the line.
Mike, yep on Racehub tonight they said she has an appointment with NASCAR this weekend at Darlington about turning Hornish. Unless their sources are wrong she's going to get her talking to, a day late and a dollar short from what usually happens in this type of incident though. |

It may not have been an "intentional" squeeze into the wall on the part of Hornish(sure looked like it was) but she did send a message to the rest of the drivers. "I won't put up with banging me around".
I still can't believe I'm defending the little princess.

I've raced with women before and they always got preferential treatment as she does, as has happened here when she beats on someone it's understood and OK. My prediction is if another male racer banged her car and intentionally turned her into the wall there would be hell to pay and a phone call "SORRY" ain't gonna be OK when the shoe's on the other foot. That's from my past experience with racing with females, may or may not happen, but if the situation is reversed the punishment won't be equal.
