Another small irritant that I am surprised nobody else has mentioned is something I have never figured out. You have to PAY to enter your car in a car show. So, it is one of the few things I know of where you spend a shtld of $ on something and then have to pay to display it for the pleasure of others to offer criticism who often have no skin in the game whatsoever. Fitting that a Czar would preside over a set-up like that.

I have taken to my car to a lot of car shows in the past and was counting up the dash plaques that I have (all shows didn't give plaques). I have spent a bundle going to shows.
For the last 2 years I have not done it much. Oddly enough, on 95% of these shows, the viewing public isn't charged anything. Not even a dollar.
