Deluxe 72 is NOT mesh, that is a fact.. Have not seen mesh on any 72 I have parted, thats standard, Esprit ( mandatory deluxe) or Formula, or T/A ( S, T, U or V)
but never say never, a early one, built in Sept 71, ya never know....

I want to keep it and still install it..can we all agree that it was a mistake on my part...I had the standard tray..but I also had standard interior..the mesh is nice as no speaker cover but thanks for clearing that up FB

I LIKE THE 72 ASSEMBLY MANUAL FOR DETAIL..THEN LOOK TO THE PARTS BOOK FOR DETAILED INFORMATION ON THE HARDWARE..I PREFER A PAPER BOOK TOO..THESE DRAWINGS & PART #S SHOW DIFFERANT LENGTH BOLTS..BUT IN REAL LIFE THE ASSEMBLERS (AS FAR AS I HAVE CHECKED) USED THE COMMON #....314 INNER FENDER BOLTS USED ALL OVER THE FRONT OF THE CAR..ALSO SEE THE SPECIAL SELF TAPPING SCREWS FOR THE INSTALLATION OF THE VALANCE TO THE BUMPER..THESE SCREWS ARE ALSO USED ON THE GRILLS TO THE BRACKETS..AGAIN SAME HARDWARE NEAR THE SAME LOCATION

AGAIN YOU WILL MOST LIKELY REUSE YOUR STEEL VALANCE TO CORE SUPPORT HARDWARE...WE WILL BE CERTAIN TO USE WASHERS AS SHOWN IN THE PHOTO...SINCE I AM ALSO INSTALLING A FRONT SPOILER, SLIGHTLY LONGER BOLTS ARE CALLED FOR IN THE ASSEMBLY MANUAL..BUT AGIN IN REAL LIFE THE ASSEMBLERS JUST USED #..314..NOT LIKE THEY WOULD CAREFULLY CHOOSE A LONGER BOLT FOR A SPOILER!!..FORMULA BRUCE SAYS SOMTHING LIKE A CAR EVERY 45 SECONDS!!??

I GOT THIS N.O,S,SPEAKER,COVER PLATE & BOX FROM YEAR 1...BACK IN THE DAY EHEN THEY SOLD GM PARTS THAT WERE ACTUALLY AFFORDABLE..ALL THIS TRAY TALK WANTS ME TO PUT IN THE CORRECT 72 STANDARD TRAY..BUT I KNOW I WILL MESS UP THE SPEAKER SIAMESE TWIN CUTS!!

If you place the package tray on the rear deck, you can use a pencil and mark the underside of the tray through the four screw holes. That way have a locater for the speaker.
I will see if I can make a paper stencil and scan it in for you guys.
