Enjoy it while it lasts. Inflation adjusted, gas prices ARE roughly the SAME as they were in the late 60s! However, that is for 87 octane. I don't run 93 in any of my drivers, and that stuff is still $.60 to $.90/gal more.

One very interesting item, and other than "because they can" reason (I wonder why the prices have stayed so high), is the fact that at the discreet pump-and-go 110 octane leaded near me - the price on that hasn't dropped at all. It is still $8/gal - but due to a variety of issues I only went through about 20 gallons this year.
Has anyone seen any drop in racing fuel prices this year?

Lake In The Hills Airport has Avgas (100LL) for about $4/gal.

Where are you that premium runs that rich? Here in Commiefornia it's a standard 0.10-0.15 split from 87 to 91.

Ben - sorry, I should have stated such. Lake County, IL - the most northeastern county in IL and borders WI. The spreads seem to be the same throughout NE IL, SW WI and NW IN.

Lake In The Hills Airport has Avgas (100LL) for about $4/gal.
Purchased some 110 oct. VP racing fuel this year for the first time in 3 years. Last time i purchased it it was $48 for a 5 gallon can and going up to $52. Right now it is $47 a 5 gallon can. I am trying to get some avgas ,not sure how much it is here. And for what it's worth 87 oct. is around $1.87 a gallon.

Gas Is Now 47 Cents Per Gallon In One Michigan Town - (AP) 01/18/16

An apparent gas war has forced the cost of a gallon of gasoline to plummet to some jawdropping lows. According to Gas Buddy.com, the Beacon and Bridge Market in Houghton Lake, MI is selling gas for as low as 47 cents per gallon. Gas Buddy.com says the price of petroleum dropped from 78 cents per gallon earlier today and the sudden drop makes Michigan the first state to see prices below $1 per gallon in years.
