I just used Swageloc fittings: 90 degree 1/2" id out of the heads, 1/2" hard tubing to the oil pan and 1/2" 90 degree fittings screwed into welded bungs in a custom steel oil pan.

I run the restrictive push rods, seem to do ok. I've thought about hard lines but I'd be concerned about vibration and fatigue.
