I just used Swageloc fittings: 90 degree 1/2" id out of the heads, 1/2" hard tubing to the oil pan and 1/2" 90 degree fittings screwed into welded bungs in a custom steel oil pan.

Working with aeroquip parts take up a lot of space needed on a clutch car.

There isn't a lot of oil that gets to the valve covers with Smith Brothers .080" restricted pushrods.

I run the restrictive push rods, seem to do ok.

I've thought about hard lines but I'd be concerned about vibration and fatigue.

I had some of this stuff laying around from turbo projects so I used it on the end of the steel drain tubes coming from the heads.
OEM quality, designed specifically to drain oil properly, no vibration issues. No bulky hoses and fittings. Oval flanges easily welded onto a steel pan.
Tubes bolt on to flanges and use proper o-rings. Aluminum flanges could be welded on an aluminum pan. Nice smooth bends and big drain holes.
