I thought an earlier episode said since they wouldn't race them on the street it would be at an un-prepped track.
I'm no drag racer but I'd think residual prep would still be there from past events unless it was a long Winter shut down.
Either way, both cars and drivers have the same conditions, but Chief probably has a bunch more experience dealing with a suspect surface.
