Not sure if it was scripted but that's the second time I've seen them hold Chief back from adding more or changing the car and be right. Considering his first run was good but squirrely, best to run the second as is since you already have one in the bag and getting a better lane.

Looks like like a guy named Travis on the left side.

So the Crow did have some test time (just like the Pro Mod) Not much, but enough to know it was going to 60 ft really well. But as you said, not a lot of time in that car. But Marty had years in that car. Sorry looks like the video has expired but the video did show the new Crow testing on the track.

The Pro Mod went into the wall earlier and cost $$$ to be repaired.
You don't think that Richard would not want the track prepped for his Pro Mod's power?

Plus a lot safer for both cars and driver's.

Great Race.

Looked like they left together on the 1st run, but the Crow out 60 footed 'em.
Chief was right on about that bump in the left lane... looked like Alex was surprised by it and let off.

The most hilarious moment was Gas Monkeys thinking they won the first race even though they crossed the finish line second.

The real winners here are Pontiac owners..and more Pontiac parts being available at the local parts stores.

So does someone actually knows if the track was prepped and how much. This wasn't a Bracket Race it was two 2,500 HP plus Pro Mod cars going down the track.

I would never bet against Chief as a driver and a tuner. Richard Rawlings did and showed his ignorance of drag racing at the same time. He spent tons of money and trucked in a whole crew of people and still lost. He probably should watch some Youtube video on how it is done and at the same time find out who Jeff Lutz is too. Hey, George is a DRIVER, he is not a Track Surface expert, he just asked the question.
Even on a prepped track a vehicle can have big problems. (aka Steve Grebeck).

For non- racers out there, there are different kind of prep for a track. The same prep for a weekday test & tune is not always the same as a prep for a BIG money Bracket Race or is it the same for getting 2 2,500+ Pro Mods down the track.

I thought an earlier episode said since they wouldn't race them on the street it would be at an un-prepped track.
I'm no drag racer but I'd think residual prep would still be there from past events unless it was a long Winter shut down.
Either way, both cars and drivers have the same conditions, but Chief probably has a bunch more experience dealing with a suspect surface.

It's great fun to see these old, outdated, out of business engines beat up on the latest and greatest. No matter what the format, and all the BS of "reality TV", it still makes me happy. Probably over half the audience that watches the shows weren't born when the last traditional Pontiac left a GM assembly line. Keeping the brand alive and relevant, that's for sure. If Pontiac was still in business, think how many cars he could have sold for the brand.

It was prepped just like they do for a track rental for any other 2000+ HP car...if it had been no-prep chief would have called Richard on every dime he had as a bet and if you don't believe that then I don't know what to tell you... The Pro Stock/Top Alcohol guy wouldn't have had experience with no-prep and Chief would have known he had the advantage but with a prepped surface and a pro driver Chief didn't have the confidence to put a bet on it...

I don't understand you.....I have no idea if it was prepped or not......I wasn't there "hence" the question. So you were there or was it "hear-say". Actually Alexs dad at one point said they were racing on a no-prep track (part 3 I think).....guess he didn't know........things change. Sounds like from your post your guessing a lot.....just saying.
