What about all the U tube videos of him running 7.70s and 7.80s with CVs.
Still, never has answered my question of his best CV time. Was it 7.65 ? Were drag radials on the car ?
I wonder what he paid out of his pocket for the CV top end ? Was it a big freebee ?
Did the new 410cfm E heads ever get a proper chance. Did he dyno it with the same cam as the 370 E heads ? We all know 40cfm means you put in a bigger cam and probably new converter. Was he not happy with the 2x4 intake for the E heads.
It just seems to me, if you run 7.71 with 370 E heads and get a 410cfm set with proper intake, cam, converter and gears you would AT LEAST see a tenth difference. Should be even more if done right.
Was it done right ? Or did he dyno it with the same cam the 370 engine had, had a "lazy air" thing going on because he was to cheap to buy a new cam, got upset and then have some guy tell them we will give you a new wiz bang CV top end. Then put it all together with a ci/crank change and the thing only goes from a 7.71 to a 7.65.
What was his ci with the 370 E heads ?
And what a gorgeous car.
Can I ask why you care? Its not your car or combo...I know you will say its because the CV crowd talks a lot.. Maybe so but does it matter so much to your program you feel the need to investigate and find what you feel is the "truth"?
Go play with your car and have fun..seems like that is enough right there to occupy your time...

The point is, while cool the heads do cost 5K. Then the special one off intake, special cam and headers are expensive.
You can buy a set of std pushrod E heads from Wilcox for 3300$ that go 374cfm ! A lot of Pontiac performance guys have 2" round port headers and Victors in their garage. Used std Pontiac rollers are not hard to find. You can make real power with the above stuff for not a whole lot of dollars. That is a real option for some, its a smart move.
They(RAVs) have to beat the pants off it to make it worth the extra dollars. Not saying they cant beat the pants off them.
Now the H&M RAVs not cheap, but the real deal is often not cheap. What are you going to say when a Pontiac NA door car goes 6s. Or the new billet block one sets the all time Pontiac record.
Warps, whatever. They are far from cheap. Have their own issues, canted valves on a Pontiac blocks is not easy. Still a BBC head on a Pontiac, whats cool about that.

Gosh you really need to get a life!
How many H & M heads been down the dragstrip? How many engine have these heads on them.....3....5?

.
dicks experience w/ former head/ intake development guy are well documented- do a search..
as are his results of the wide port / as cast cv-1 dyno test that yielded 30hp more for cv-1 top end... same 455 motor, all same stats even cam specs

years ago that 'lazy port' thing was the latest 'bash cv-1' theme...funny how the same 380 cfm thru the newest head offering w/ 3.2 sq ".. just like the gen 1 cv-1.... isnt challenged- LMFAO

Chief has gone faster in Marty Palbykin's car than ANY car he has raced.
The car Chief is running right now. 69goat1, that body shell came out of the southwest.

72, you thought the lazy air comment was about your stuff ? It was about the big E heads. Was it dynoed with the same cam as the 370 heads like I heard ? If it was, the cylinder could not get properly filled. Did you make DF pay for his top end ? If you didnt, like I suspect it would play into him still acting like your stuff is the greatest, even though he is maybe a tenth and a half quicker.
Just a tad quicker than old school 370 Edelbrock wide ports.
And did he stroke the engine up, maybe 1/2" ?
What I am trying to say is I think he could have been just as fast with his new E heads had he finished developing them. KK is at 1400HP with basically the same heads and a single 4 with a plate. Nothing fancy like 2x4 sheet metal and fogger.
130lbs is some heavy muffs BTW.
And do you really expect me to put any stock in that back to back "455" test. A "455" with 357cfm heads(as cast CVs went that on the bench for some, not 380) and the right cam is sure as he!! going to make more power than 410cfm heads and a big sheet metal. Its a better match, and I suspect the cam is the test was optimized for the as cast Cvs.
Smoke and mirrors.

You Georgie, you were not saying stuff like that when I broke the news on Scotts 2800HP extra head bolt Monster years ago. Look it up.
It did happen, some of the same people involved this time. Have a track record of making big Pontiac power. I know things you dont about it. Have some cad drawings I would like to share but do not have the OK. Its pretty cool to say the least. Dave will get all the pub when it happens.

Scott, you should know of all people who have manufacturers turn their backs on you when their stuff does not live up.

Stan, in a high end race engine where every bit counts, a cylinder head change with a big difference in flow, and you DONT change cams. You are not trying as hard as you can.
So, take all of your old drag race trophy's and................... thats right, none.
Maybe he did change cam , who knows ?

You need to improve your reading comprehension. Never said it do not need a cam change. It is just I have never seen it work the way you have.

Ah save it Stan. This thread is about "what have E heads done" like its some sort of knock. As far as your circle goes, make 1200HP NA then pop off.
No one is going to change anyone's mind here. George knew what was going to happen when he started this tread. And accuses me of stirring it up.
Lets all leave it at that.

Stan, go away. No one who knows me thinks I parrot anyone's opinions. I am very opinionated all by myself. I came to my own conclusions on your circles stuff when they could not, can not beat the inline heads period. Canted valve advantage and all. They screwed the pooch, had their chance. We will see if they can drum up enough interest or another casting run, doubt it.
And when I am after numbers, I go to the Wallace site. I dont get a half page of goblygook with one little area on the page pertaining to what I am after. Good luck selling it.

It is perfectly clear what the source of your misinformation is. No open mindedness or free thinking there. I am the member of no circle. All I have even done is try to correct the misinformation and down right lies that were posted up. That got me banned from the same forum twice.

This past Saturday I was down at Capital Raceway actually talking with the ECM face to face. Great way to know the real person.

See there you go, you can show some free choice. John has a very nice web site and excellent selection of calculators.

So Mr. Fulton went almost .10 quicker at 120 more weight (thats what I been saying) thats equals to like .10, so do some maths that almost .20 quicker and at that ET that adds up to a lot more HP! I also was there when he ran that 7.62............I just forgot.
So thats another "Heads Up" Racer making the SWITCH to go quicker!
As for the H & M non RA5 head............its just another head that e-headed racers will make the SWITCH too.........if they can afford it! LOL!
