LOL...it wasn't quite that late, but the sun was beginning to set. The problem was I had a two bottle warmer and we were getting into round robin rounds, not leaving much time to change bottles. Ray and Larry had just changed the bottle before that run...unbeknownst to me at the time with one that was not in the warmer. I had the system tuned to stage with 1000-psi line pressure...and after one pass it would drop to 900-925. This bottle was just under 900 when I staged, so I crossed my fingers and hoped...didn't work (LOL). Now here's the funny part, especially knowing what fuel prices are today. I got $75 for going that many rounds, which was just enough gas money to get home and leave about $5 in my pocket. Had I not went those rounds, I would have been borrowing some gas money from someone, as I tapped the bank account out on that driveshaft I had to get made in Akron on Friday (LOL) and the plastic was hurting too (LOL). 425 miles on just $70 worth of gasoline...but that's when it took about $35 to fill up the tank (LOL)...can't do that today!

Chris my comment on "going where" was related to do you really want to open up the topic of there really being a different side on some of the previous issues. Some of them are so well documented so the "second side" really can't be a whole lot different. I take that to say I personally am full of crap(and several others) and didn't have any real issues before as the "other side" might say. That is what seems to be implied by others also in certain "camps" also. I get a little defensive when it's implied I'm a liar.

Anyway, finished a crazy morning where nothing was simple(cat with weight loss owner thought was worms had a liver tumor to be worked up, etc etc) now I'm off to hook up the trailer and go to the Southern Nationals in the 90+ degree heat! So you all can debate this the rest of the weekend.

Brian, Rules for a good NO SHI##er:

1) You cannot brag about yourself in the No SHI##er, ever. A Good Friend (or friends) is always more successful.

2) Whatever time it took it real life, it took twice as long in the No
SHI##er story.

3) Whatever it cost in real life, it cost 4 times as much in the No
SHI##er story.

4) What the part cost is always second to "WHO YOU GOT THE PART FROM" Like this Intake manifold came off of "Mickey Thompson's" Challenger Blower Motor.

5) Who always need to include the guys who you raced against. Bragging about racing against GTOGEORGE will get you less points vs dragging against Arnie Beswick. Even if Annie was racing a ten second Tempest at the time and George was running mid 8s. If no one was keeping records you can shorten the time by at least a 1/2 second and increase the MPH by 10 mph.

6) You always get more respect by kicking all the rods out of your engine vs fixing the leaking head gasket that cause the rods to exit the block. Must have been all of that Horsepower you built into the engine.

7) Having a blower on you car is worth more than NOS. Having a Blower and NOS is worth more than having a Tunnel Ram. Running a 4 bbl engine that runs fast in a legal weight doorslammer get you less points vs the RED that makes 1/2 the HP. (remember this is a NO SHI##er" contest here. Doesn't matter if the Doorslammer is a former World Champion and you haven't really beaten anyone in your racing career. If the doorslammer was competing against the world's
fastest Chebbys or Fords in the class, you get even less points as everyone knows the Chebbys and Fords don't run.

8) You paste your car with stickers you bought at a swap meet but you borrow gas money to get back home because all of that "contingency money" was really a NO SHI##er thing on all your buddies.

There are more but these are the easy ones.

I remember that event well at Norwalk, Brian. That was the year I first met Larry Davis and Ray Cox. Ray broke his Chit so he and Larry tag-teamed on your car late into the night as you went round after round after round. Impressed a lot of people with that deal. Tom, it is very nice on how you stick up for your friend and I applaud you for that. Why is it that went I stick up for MY FRIENDS I am a bad guy. I believe I am as persistent as your friend and more. Mine is POSITIVE persistence. (EXCEPT when it comes to BB) In the past 4/5 years I have been coming to Norwalk going faster and faster, with a limited budget, knowledge and help. In 2004, I broke my new motor and my hand but I still keep coming BACK!!! I walked the walked and HOPE to continue to RUN this year. As for 1993, I have a trophy in front of me that saids {{TRI POWER. Sunday, RACE RUNNER-UP. SEPTEMBER 26,1993. Back on track...my IA2 had to have the normal treatment like in AP instructions...normal for aftermarket parts...none ever work right out of the box. Bill

Maurice, A little History:

When I first came on the board Mr Baker gave me a lot of chit. Scott Misus was the other guy. Seemed they had a hard time accepting some of my credentials (based on a picture I posted of when I was much younger). I got the PMs from Scott and the negative posts from Brian BUT I was able over time to work the issues all out.

Same deal goes for this thread about "IA-2 issues". I personally have never had any with Bob and Frank. They work hard to work them out just like I did with Baker and Misus.

That being said, Just because you have a "hard-on" for Mr Baker does not affect my posts about Mr Baker. I figure that at some point you will work them out with him too.

The reason why it took 7 months to receive a IA-2 block is that they only cast them up when they have enough orders to warrant a block run. usually they try and incorporate improvements into the block at that time from what I have seen with my three blocks.

Playing devils advocate can be fun, but some of your fellow members here on py were greatly affected financially by these issues. Some sensitivity on these issues seems to be in order.

Maurice look back a few posts to this-no jabs at KRE trying to get it back on track and suddenly we get it off track in both directions.

So yes when we get a "cheerleading tangent" especially one saying there must be another side I'm going to bring up some points I have experienced and can document. And I am probably one of a fairly small "club" of folks that have had an MR-1 and an IA2 ,maybe not to the power level some of the other folks here have , but that isn't my goal a dependable 700+ HP.So issues with both "normal" and abnormal I have experienced

I can also tell you some potential issues with some of the new aluminum 409 heads I'm going to have to resolve, but that's a whole new tangent.
