We've covered that ground many times. Nothing at all wrong with iron heads. Correctly ported samples have shown us they can and will make some pretty serious power, ET/MPH etc. If you are paying for the work, the price quickly approaches buying aluminum heads in the first place, which is what I've done here since KRE came out with the aluminum "D" ports. We haven't built a single 455 engine using them, that didn't make at least 500hp on pump fuel with relatively small cams, iron intakes, etc. Even the 428 we built made 497hp at 5600rpm's, with unported KRE heads. I'm not going to spend countless hours with the grinder, or pay $1400 or more for ported iron heads, when I can get KRE's for a few hundred dollars more......FWIW.....Cliff
