"The KRE heads in the 290cfm offerings will easily make more power at every rpm than the ported 62's." But Cliff I thought smaller iron heads were all we need and they beat those big aluminum ones

OMT lives on the west coast, and is of no relation to Jim Taylor on the east coast.

![]() We have a friend who's name is Jim Taylor also, who has a nickname of Pontiac Jack. Maybe we should call you 'Pontiac Jack', but then Pontiac Jack would be po'd. ![]() Any way, OMT is not the Jim Taylor in the poster's thread.

I was referring to post #3, and OMT was also, I believe, not the 'joke' post?

"But Cliff I thought smaller iron heads were all we need and they beat those big aluminum ones."
We've covered that ground many times. Nothing at all wrong with iron heads. Correctly ported samples have shown us they can and will make some pretty serious power, ET/MPH etc. If you are paying for the work, the price quickly approaches buying aluminum heads in the first place, which is what I've done here since KRE came out with the aluminum "D" ports. We haven't built a single 455 engine using them, that didn't make at least 500hp on pump fuel with relatively small cams, iron intakes, etc. Even the 428 we built made 497hp at 5600rpm's, with unported KRE heads. I'm not going to spend countless hours with the grinder, or pay $1400 or more for ported iron heads, when I can get KRE's for a few hundred dollars more......FWIW.....Cliff

Well, he's in The Peoples Socialist Republic of New Jersey and rumor has it that he crawled out from under a rock.
Additionally, and not surprisingly, he is currently being sued over fraudulent misrepresentation in connecting with some shenanigans he pulled over on the folks who built The Righteous Judge. I hope it bankrupts him.

That sounds like the Jim Taylor from The Peoples Socialist Republic of New Jersey that everybody in the Philly area is familiar with. Say, I wonder why he moved from the great bastion of conservatism, Pennsylvania, across the river, to the most liberal socialist State in the country? To escape legal problems in PA?
