rims
oversize rims. i can't stand a can with those 22" or whatever size they are rims. the ugliest thing i have seen. you got to have tire in the wheel well.
my 68 gto has a rear sway bar but i like the way it handles so i'm keeping it there. |

As already mentioned and I agree, Incorrect paint colors, decals and bolt on stuff....no big deal, all cosmetic and can be changed by the next owner.
When guys wreck a car by hacking up the roof, hoods or the wheel openings that's destroying what the car was, no matter what brand....what a mess to fix comes to mind when I see that.

I'm not into car shows or restorations, so I don't really notice the little things. I do like the OEM look, performance based modifications are OK if done well, it just has to look right to me...
A Holley carburetor where a Q-jet belongs gets my top vote when looking at engines... The front chin spoilers, and rear trunk mounted spoilers on a 67-69 Firebird are special too...

Just kidding... I noticed several things on the GTO, like the W/W Washers, hard to use without the hoses!

Here's another example of Non functional "RamAir" hoodscoops, painted body color, on a "restored" car. Easily fixable, but annoying nonetheless.

For a concours resto...
FASTENERS is honestly my biggest pet peeve. Clear Zinc hardware store bolts with extra washers and lock washers drive me crazy. Lock washers were rarely used on any factory built A-body that I have seen. A lot of cars could be greatly improved by spending time locating and restoring the correct fasteners.

Concours vs Concourse
Call me OCD, but this one bugs me also...
Concours - A term that refers to a car show of very fine vehicles. This is the term used to describe a show where cars in superb condition are judged against a standard of excellence established by the sponsors, with awards given to winners. Show cars compete in a concours Concourse - A term that refers to a place where pathways or roads meet, such as in a hotel, convention center, a railway station, an airport terminal, a hall, or other space.

Just don't put that Buick air cleaner decal on your car or turn the headlight 90 degrees and call it the best of the best and a concours gold restoration.

Personally I find it annoying when guys will rip your car apart after all that work you have done because something like the body panels have big gaps. Well guess what? When these cars were made, some of the body panels WERE gaped large. Well I intentionally gaped the doors to fenders wide because I dont want to kiss the paint when I hammer the gas peddle.
Go figure.... and its not like big and ugly, just comfort for body twist.
