I have two cars insured with American Modern with agreed value of 55K plus. I have been with them for about two years. Annual cost of about $325. Have had no claims so cant comment on how they handle claims.

I have had American Collectors for around 5 years. Great with claims and great rates.

Agreed value for both the 67 Tempest and 62 Cat Wagon. FULL coverage 160/year. Mind you my cars are not concourse, so agreed value for both is probably one car here.

NEVER had an issue with them. 2 towing claims. 1 MSD box and 1 broken rocker stud. NEVER an ounce of trouble.

Default +1 Hagerty's

I have a friend that is an independent insurance agent and a car guy. He set me up with Hagerty's because they will insure project cars in process. Apparently no other company will do that.

Not important if it is not being driven? I had a bad house fire several years ago, and found out that cars in the garage are only covered under an auto policy. Having been through that once, I was unwilling to take a chance....

So, mine is insured by Hagerty's.

I have american modern. One small claim and no complaints. They handled it quickly.

Default Why

Why do they ask what insurance company you have when you look for other companies?

Probably because of the MCCA Assessment.

And, I recently switched both my collector cars to Haggerty. They allow some coverage for auto parts. I recently lost all my parts and tools in a fire and USAA paid ZERO dollars for the parts I lost. (est@60K).

I have Hagerty. I drive mine almost everyday and they know. I don’t take very long trips in it daily though. They are much more liberal with their driving policy than anyone I talked to. Being a former cop I threw some scenarios out to all the carriers I called. Hagerty was the only one that gave me a total warm fuzzy. Grundy seemed too good to be true and then when I pressed them with the scenarios they folded like a cheap tent. I have had 2 claims with Hagerty in 8 years. Rate didn’t go up, both paid in 72 hours.

I had American Collectors for 10 years, never hade a claim. I am now with Hagerty the past 5 years, never had a claim with them either. Although the American Collectors premiums were slightly less than Hagerty, the reason I switched was due to friends who had claims with Hagerty. The claim process for them was hassle free no issues etc. Claim service is the deciding factor with any insurance company. After all that is what you are buying, claim service.
