The shift rods from a 70 are much thicker and less flexible the prior years.

I am sure a lot of them just run stock linkage. I row the crap out ofine with no problems but I have 70 linkage.

Steel bushings hold up better than the nylon ones and I always lube mine with white lithium grease on both ends.

How do you expect to keep the Muncie together after the 2-to-3 Upshift?

Are you running an OHC-6?

I don't know what power level you're running but with spray I put about 525 to the back tires. I upgraded my munchie by adding the Autogear case and iron midplate and M22W gears (after I shattered the factory case and 1st gear). Then I welded some small angle iron to the shifter rods becuase they were flexing and I'd get stuck in 2nd gear which sucked.

After these mod's it took the abuse I threw at it.

Dude, dump the all caps.
No one like being yelled at the whole time.
It makes for a bad read.

If you can't get it to go into 2nd gear at RPM then maybe your clutch adjustment is wrong or your syncro's arn't grabbing properly. Are you running synthetic or regular gear oil?
