That 6T9 Goat isn't all that bad. Tho I do like the Hurst Trans Am. Too bad Pontiac didn't do that back in 79 thru 81.

I do like the Kevin Morgan designs, I think it's an excellent looking conversion way sexier than any camaro. I just wish I could afford one.

I really like this one... looks wicked from the front. Haven't really cared for any of the other T/A versions that I've seen.

I can't tell how it looks in this one... having trouble focusing on the car for some reason.

You have to remember that without the original Camaro, there would be no Firebird, or Trans Am. Pontiac wanted something different with the Banshee, but GM said NO! So they worked with the already set-in-motion Camaro and we got the Firebird, and eventually the Trans Am, which were GM's response to the wildly popular Mustang.
As for performance, the LS engines are pretty damn awesome! 20-30 years ago you would have had to build a marginally streetable car to post the times that some of the newer Camaro, GTO, Vette, and G8 GT/GXP's are putting up, and you don't have to sacrifice creature comforts or decent fuel mileage.
So true, the Firebird was always a Camaro in disguise right from 1967 so I don't get the "crapmaro" statements everytime this comes up.

If Pontiac were to build one today it would be based off this current crapmaro and the Mustang & Challenger boys would be going up against one fierce contender IMO.

Shave the A$$ end width, recess the grill so it does not stick out and lift the roof or lower the belt line so there is a window and it would be nicer looking. The new Camaro just does not have good lines IMO but everyone has an opinion. Looks like they forgot to measure the roof and made them all to short.

Wink ...valuable and something that you would want to own now, or simply a joke?

Each to their own for sure. No harm, no foul if you like what you see and hear GREAT! Glad you enjoyed the 2012 TA facsimile. Thanks for understanding the historical and alternative point of view with no intention of raining on anyone’s parade here. My feelings certainly haven’t been hurt and hopefully the same is true for you.

As with Black 1978 “So.California Firebirds” creation when it was new; I too was excited to see the “new” T/A prototype’s rendered by Kevin Morgan etc. while Pontiac was still a operating Division of GM. Granted, the New Technology, R&D, AutoCad, Engineering and Craftsmanship of some of these Camaro turned “Trans Ams” is impressive. However; spending north of $100,000 to over $200,000 for a “Pontiac Firebird” that will be titled by DMV as a “Chevrolet Camaro” and the resale retail or auction value is less than a stock Camaro seems the wrong direction to go IMO. Of course, on the $ side of things, the same argument could be said for the YR1 “Bandit Edition” creations I suppose… at least those will still be Firebirds or Trans Ams and not Camaros or Z/28’s. Back in the ‘80’s there was a huge market turning Corvettes into Ferrari GTO’s too. In fact, partially due to the popularity of Miami Vice, there was another conversion cottage industry turning authentic GTO Ferrari Daytona Coupes into droptops…Any guess what they are worth today? Over time how do you think they will be valued? Do you see the then ‘State of the Art’ Black 1978 “So.California Firebirds” creation as valuable and something that you would want to own now, or simply a joke?

These “creations” below are some examples:

Fiero “Ferrari Testarossa”
• 2002 Camaro “1969 Z/28”
• Corvette “Ferrari GTO”
• GTO Ferrari Daytona Coupe “Convertible”
• Toyota Celica “Mustang Mach 1”

At the end of the day it really boils down to:

If you like them – Thumbs Up.
If you don’t like them – Thumbs Down.

As I previously stated: Where's a Whale Tail when you need one?

Beauty (and Perceived Value) Is in the Eye of the Beholder.
history repeating itself…LOL!

My main issue with these cars is:

1) Pontiac no longer exists.
2) The last Trans Am was made in 2002.
3) These cars have nothing to do with Pontiac, or the Trans Am.

These are JC Whitney body panels attached to a Camaro, and I never cared much for kit cars. The guys driving around Fieros with a Ferrari F40 or Countach kits never impressed me much in the 80's, but at least with those cars, there was a point. You were emulating a very expensive exotic car, with a low priced American car. These CamaroBirds don't emulate anything, except someone's idea of a what they think a Trans Am should look like.

It's a cut-and-paste version, taking styling elements from the past, from what other people created. Standing on the shoulders of giants.

It would have been interesting to see how Pontiac would have styled this car, if Pontiac had survived.

Alvin, ALL of those cars you posted look better than those CamaroBirds posted earlier!
I also think there's a reason they haven't sold any of these things in 2 years. Not many folks wanting to pony up $60K for a $45K Camaro wearing JC Whitney body panels.

Talking I like this one.

People do like them and buy them. Heres one at this years world of wheels car show in Pittsburgh, PA. The more I looked the more I liked. This car was very well done. I would proudly add one of these to the collection
