He may have crashed a number of cars in the past, but currently he's one of the leaders in the Nationwide series. I repeat, his average finish is 11.6 in the Nationwide Series, so how can you claim, "The NASCAR Officials were probably surprised that both Hornish Jr and Danica were still running and going to finish the race, which is rare for the both of them, that they let it go"?

He's not Danica and he's not a hugely popular driver, so NASCAR doesn't really care what happened.
Popularity should have no bearing on the situation.

It adds some spice to the 'show' and that's what NASCAR is desperately looking for. Add that to the fact he was perceived by some as picking on 'our girl' and there you have it: No action by NASCAR.
I don't think many people in racing are worried about Danica getting picked on. It's well known that she is getting preferential treatment, and most race fans are opposed to it.

And as Sirrotica so eloquently pointed out, NASCAR is going to counsel the little princess.

You shouldn't defend her...

I don't think there is a single driver in NASCAR that is worried about what Danica "might" do if "squeezed". She wasn't "banged around", but she did bang around Hornish.

If any thing, I think she lost respect from the other driver's for being such a "pussy" on the track.

If Sam is so great why isn't he still in open wheel cars?

Popularity should have no bearing on the situation.

Um, yeah this is NASCAR where popularity matters most.

I don't think many people in racing are worried about Danica getting picked on. It's well known that she is getting preferential treatment, and most race fans are opposed to it.
Which is exactly what I said

Good grief man. It's just racing. I turn the tv off and go back to my life when it's over.

Yet here you are, 3 days after the race, still trying to make excuses for Danica.

Do you dream about her at night?

All I see is HIGH MAINTENANCE in that picture, I don't have any admiration of the way she conducts herself on or off the track, I'm sure my assessment isn't the most popular one, however I really don't see anything pretty about her, especially on the inside.

One of the females I raced with was blonde name Holly Osborne, I see a brunette clone in Patrick of the same attitude and demeanor. If you touched her car even accidentally you would be greeted with "HOLLY"S ARMY" upon exiting your car after the race, dressed down from a woman with the most foul mouth I believe I have ever heard on a woman and then threatened by the thugs that surrounded her. I was on the receiving end of it one night after I happened to be in the same vicinity that she was when she practically stopped in the middle of a turn and the guy behind her spun her out. As she went around she saw my car and evidently assumed incorrectly that I was the culprit. The guy that hit her was pitted next to me and owned up to the accidental bump after she started on me and she called him every thing but a white man. This was typical of what went on while she was running the same class I was, I was really happy when she quit racing...............

That night after the races were done and they opened the pits up I had a woman come up to me and tell me she thought I was the dirtiest driver she had ever seen. Obviously another fan that also assumed I spun her hero out, OH WELL.............

Sorry, these days I see more beauty on the inside where it matters, she just has no appeal to me whatsoever.

He attitude and demeanor just make her unappealing, I really hate the way Go Daddy merchandises her and she evidently is fine with it. The whole package does nothing for her and I guess because of the above re counted story above she is so close to the other woman I raced with. I don't follow the most popular trends many times, guess racing a Pontiac with a Q Jet an automatic transmission with 2 radiators in a dirt car, and not getting all ga ga over Princess Patrick really puts me way off the popular trends, that's just the way I am though.......................LOL

Besides that she has way more attention already than she needs, mine won't be missed...........

No, I don't.

There is nothing about her that I find appealing. I'm on the same page as Brad - she's nothing but a high maintenance female dog.

She wants everyone to respect her for her racing ability and gets upset when some people consider her a sex object. If she doesn't want to be looked at that way, why does she promote herself as one?

She doesn't HAVE to do racy godaddy commercials.

She is doing both.. mind you she only does one for the money, I doubt she likes it much, but there is a bunch of carry over.. She did say nascar cars handle like crap in the ass end compared to IRL cars, and she's right about that..

My thoughts exactly, I don't care what she looks like, I do not like her or find her attractive in any way whatsoever. She is not deserving of any of the attention she is getting, her record is dismal at best. People should be ashamed trying to defend what she stands for.

If she can't drive/doesn't like the cars of NASCAR - than maybe she should return to the Indy Car Series.

Of course, she wasn't very good at that either.

To follow up on my post that she's not good enough to carry Sam's jock....

Sam Hornish won 19 IRL races and 3 IRL titles (2001, 2002 and 2006).

Danica won 1 IRL race and has never finished close enough to the title to get a sniff of it (2009 was her "best" series finish with 393 points - problem is Dario Franchitti had 616 points).

Sam has run 41 Nationwide races in his career - posting 1 win and 9 top 10's.

Danica has 34 career Nationwide races and has no wins and 4 top 10's.

FWIW - Sam is only 2 years older than the Princess, but didn't get involved in racing until the age of 11. Danica started racing at the age of 10. So there really is only 1 extra year of "experience" for Sam. But even if Sam never wins another race - he's had a great racing career.

Danica - well she's raced for 22 years and has 1 win in a car to show for it. She's a legend in her own mind...
