Cool Yeah...

I always tell 'em "I'll take cash with two I.D.'s!" I always wondered if they were ever themselves paid in chickens or something? I don't get it either. Ron

5-6 years ago I listed a car in the Auto Trader online. Had a couple of pictures with a description and price. I get a call from a Middle Easterner that lived about 60 miles away. He calls on the phone and asks just a couple of questions. He then says, whithout seeing the car in person, "What's the lowest price that you'll take for the car?" I was frustrated with the Arab at this point and repeated the price I had in the ad. He said that that was the price in the ad and I said if I wanted less I would ask for less. I sold the car a couple of days later for about 97% of the asking price. There was no way I would have any business dealings with that towelhead.

Can someone please advise our friend not to make racial slurs in the Lobby?

It's nothing but racist. He said "Arab" and "towelhead". Arab and towelhead are not a religion. Arabs are Jews, Christian, agnostic and atheist too. Leave the garbage in the Clubhouse.

FWIW I apologize. I forgot that I wasn't in the Clubhouse. It's too late to edit.

He was going to call the guy back and tell him he had until the next evening to get there.
I thought it was upstanding that he hold it for someone without even a hint of a deposit.
When I called back later that afternoon to see if he had contacted the guy,he said he hadnt heard back from him yet.I then complemented him on being a man of his word, that I had so many people sell stuff out from under me on CL(even with a paypalled deposit). I then explained that alot of buyers are just BSers,as an example I have a golf cart on CL for sale and 2 people promised they would be right over to buy,and both never called or showed up.His reply was"you have a golf cart?I need a golf cart."
We struck a deal that each traded for amount asking,I kicked in $200 for the difference and both went away happy. My boys both love this jetski ,as its a factory hotrod.
Ill probably sell it this winter after weve had our fun,for about 4x the amount I had in the golf cart.
I love it when a plan comes together.

A farmer friend of mine purchased a new pickup in 1987: V6, auto, swb stepside. As planned he immediately yanked the V6 for a big block/TH400 and went racing.

He was able to trade the original drivetrain (engine, trans, wiring harness and computer) to the guy that does his Anhydrous Ammonia applications in exchange for several years of free service.

My friend had it priced right, but the cheap b#strds kept yammering until my old friend grabbed a hammer from under table & whacked the centercap real good, destroying it. As a hardcore Pontiac restorer, Im sure he wouldn't have done the same to a hard to find Pontiac part, but it was the highlight of the week!
LOL those Corvair guys must be cut from the same cloth. Up here French Lake Auto Parts had about 20-25 Corvair cars in the yard about 15 years ago. The Corvair guys would always be trying to nickel and dime Floyd down on the parts. Finally he had enough and crushed out every Corvair in the yard! End of problem.
