Not usually big on aftermarket parts, but I wanted to use the M/T covers and looked dumb with stock air cleaner. I had to grind the flange down and JB an adapter in to make it fit, but works well. Sounds better at WOT to boot.
I shaved about 1/2" off the base with a belt sander. Then used a Mr. Gasket adapter which I used up the last 1/3+ of an industrial sized pack of JB Weld to set it in the base. I bought it on E-Bay and it had a Rausch return address on it. Very heavy cast aluminum. ![]() ![]()

Very Cool Set... Can you show us the underside of the air cleaner when you modded it?

Good tech, Bruce!
(And I agree that finned covers need a finned carb lid.)

I believe this is a '66 Bonneville. Photo from '67. In the words of Cheech Marin - Check how fine she is. Door edge guards, massive whip antenna, big old mud guard. That dude just wanted to profile. They did not really need it at that scrimmage. Ride me to the Pearly Gates in that is all I can say.

1. Nice looking M/T covers...would like to know the process used to clean off the fins...as I have a couple of sets here, one on non-stock engine. 2. Nice ambulance photo... I wonder what that one weighed in @ while fully dressed out with added safety gear and loaded with EMT and patients? 6,000lbs or more perhaps? |

I was wondering the same on the weight of that thing. I was thinking 8,000 on that since Suburbans can weigh that. It just looks heavy sitting there. The lights are spectacular.

Just bought this cool original postcard. The back says:
America's number one road car ... '63 Pontiac Taylor Pontiac Co. 700 Market St. Akron, O. Yes just an "O"

I know these don't really fit the thread either, but they really should be archived here somewhere. 1st time I have seen these particular ones before. Maybe Keith can tell us something about the '64 GP Thanks again HAMBers:

Wonder if the wheels were factory. Look like '63 caps. Wouldn't fit '66 wheels.

The hubcaps on the police car are specific to full size Pontiacs from 1962 to 1966, and used on the 65-66 cars with the heavy duty braking option (police, taxi and ambulance) which included 15" wheels. The hubcaps are held on by clips. I have a NOS set that I'm going to put on my car when I take the 8 lugs off. I got the 15" wheels off of a 1966 ambulance.

Fellas - isn't this a '64 Bonneville Brougham? If you can see that far.
