Thanks, I know there are a lot of good companies that will do a good job. But the ones I worry about are ones like the guys you mentioned. Unless you are warned about them you don't know they do bad work and have poor customer service until they mess up a very expensive part.

These guys are in Portland, IN. They restored my pot metal vent frames and did a very good job. They have different price points from driver to concours quality.

I used Finishing Touch in Chicago. Was very pleased. They did my console top & lid, tail panel on a '65, and the side trim on the seats. A little spendy but beautiful work.
Had Pauls Chrome do some work..was dissapponted...called them and they said they worried about how it looked when sent back. If they worried about it, why did they send it out? They re worked it and it was just OK...not great.

Thanks, I will definitely not use Paul's Chrome. It is good to hear which places to stay away from.

First time I've seen Charles mentioned on the PY board. Since he is local and I could save on shipping I got him to do my original 69 rear bumper. I was worried because it was very bent up but it came back straight and beautiful. He also did a nice job on my original remote mirror, and my cornering lamp and console bezels. Three years now and everything still looks new. Not the cheapest but a straight-up guy. He will not give a firm quote on odd parts until he sees them but will give a close estimate if you send him good pics, and his turn-around times are right on the money.

They do great work on stainless trim as well.

Thanks to all that have given their recommendations and experience. It sounds like there are numerous companies that will give good quality work. I do like the fact that some give a Lifetime warranty to their work.

I definitely have pot metal that needs rechromed because the main piece I need redone is the tail piece of a 65 that has Pontiac written in it. It is in the worst shape and is pretty pitted.
