Keep us informed on your results. If it really works I'll consider one also but I'm sceptical.

Behavior modification classes would be the best course of action for both owner and pet. Give it as an early Christmas gift.

Rent a pet grizzly bear and let him sit out by the fence. One growl and all dogs will be so much quieter..... for a very long time.

I did record the dogs barking after 10PM. Then I contact the the township offices and an official came out and talked to my neighbor and then to me. After the 2nd house call he was informed that next time it was a $300 fine and after that the dogs would be confiscated and gone.

Gentlemen,

FYI....in most states, purposefully poisoning an animal is ILLEGAL. You're subject to the penalties of animal cruelty laws. A VERY effective solution to a barking dog is a ref's whistle. Blow it until the barking stops or your neighbors complain.

I guarantee the dog thinks the reward is for barking. Timing is everything.

I know there are some dogs that won't listen to commands when being naughty, even though they are very friendly in all other situations. But that usually occurs when they are doing something instinctive, like chasing other dogs or animals.
Just barking for no reason is a bad behavior trait that goes with non-discipline by owner.

Flame thrower
and maybe a garden hose in case a dog catches on fire accidentally.

Realistically if you don't have the balls to go and talk to your neighbor about it in an adult and professional manner, then you deserve to listen to the dogs bark all night long.

i don't condone catching a dog on fire unless it is in progress of attacking.
meant the flamethrower suggestion as a scare tactic to the animal and owner.

I'm not sure who you are addressing but I have talked to the dog owner about 6-8 times and it fell on deaf ears. BTW the neighbor on the other side of him did likewise. It was after that that I called the township officials.

PS. when talking to him he admitted that there was a problem with the dogs barking. He probably went in the house and had a discussion with the dogs for an hour or so. Maybe they weren't listening.

Hey Ross -

Yeah, I feel your pain. Trying to talk to a neighbor can be a challenging event. If speaking with the owner does not work, then maybe a juicy steak with sleeping pills in it would help the dog relax and not bark. It's worth a shot.

My next door neighbor has a Scotty and it's the dumbest dog I have ever seen. Everything is fine when I'm in his territory, but when I go back to my side, it will start barking again. The neighbor does not know what to do so I often go over and befriend the dog. At times a garden hose works for a short period of time as well.

There are no bad dogs, just bad owners. Don't let me know that you have committed a crime against a defenseless animal as I would find every way to put the law and the man into your life. As it has been suggested cities and counties all have ordinances, codes and law enforcement that protect your right to peace and quiet.

Lobo thanks you for your understanding.

Awe. My guy got his name from yet another "Lobo" in southern IL. My father took me goose hunting more than 30 years ago and the guide had a black Lab named Lobo. This Lab was a true hunting dog and very good at his job. He made such an impression on me as a kid I have always remembered him. My Lobo is not so much of a hunter lol.

To dark(1 am), wooded, thickets, and water.
They get 6-7(that i know of) a yr by me. Not just little ones either.
One will lure the dog away from the house out into the area right behind my place.
Then they take turns go'n after the hind leg muscle till they cant run or stand.
Then its dinner time. Not a pretty thing to listen to...

sounds like you need a light on the back of the house, some hamburger and a scoped .22 or bigger.
