And I've only recently started "making chips" toward the goal of a hemi four-banger. At this rate, I'll be about age 120 when the car moves under its own power...

Yea I like the looks of the 61 much more.
The car is a actuall 61 but is titled as a 62. Talking with some of the older sales guys They said some back in the day wouldn't title it till it was sold. Maybe this one didn't sell intill 1962. Thats the only thing I can figure out with this. Maybe the secretary of state might be able to inlighting me on this. Trying to decide if I want to leave the scoop on or not Todd, Not sure yet it does look cool though I think. GT. PS. Thanks for the parts Gary. |

Well doing a little mock up on the motor before installing.
And a new tail shaft bushing and seal for the tranny too. This thing will be going together soon. GT. |

Blueghost--what kind of master cylinder are you using and how did you get it to hang so level? Project is looking good!!!

The master cyl. is for a 67-68 firebird manual brakes. I wanted it to look some what original. I had a friend of mine make me a wedge out of a piece of alluminuim and I mounted my master cyl. on the top bolts instead of the bottom ones for more clearance for the lines and so I could run them inside of the fender wells so it would give that orignal kind of look. Worked out pretty well. Theres more about it in the earlier pages on this sight and pictures too. GT. |

Nice setup! Did you elongate the through hole in the firewall and is the pushrod at an angle! John

I used a hole saw and drilled another hole above.
It actually is about a 1/4 inch into the lower hole. The rod to the master cyl. is straight to the brake pedal with good alignment as there were two holes on my brake pedal. So the geometrie is right on. GT. |

Here are some shots of my 63 coming together. Puddle is from radiator burping! Still need to make decisions on interior and wheels/tires! John

Looks great John, I think the grilles would look better black(messing with you), what kind of wheels you thinking of using. The tail lights look good. Dan
