Beat me to it. I believe it was taken in '68 according to the tag on the Pic.
I like how it is diving into the turn.

Kind of off the normal track - but here is one I scanned in today from a CD of Freddy King. Guy is very cool. Check out the belt buckle. If you don't know him. He has a ton of good albums on Cotillion. 1934-1976 is my favorite.

Jawa CZ. 250CC -they won the world 250cc Champ. in '75 - and Yamaha showed up the next year. Steel coffin tank (didn't last long), down pipe, world's worst carb (Jikov) but it was fast and bullet-proof. Oh - and also darn hard to start. Real rubber inner tubes - you were always pumping. I loved it.

Found this reported to be "James Garner's A.I.R. Race car" though it was pretty cool for this thread.
Race hauler says Fred Gledhill Chevrolet, Fremont CA on the door. Check out the two other Vettes w sequential number of Garner's on one, and the Wrecked Porsche racer in the background. ![]() Edit: James Garner name written above rear wheel opening on 1/4 panel of Corvette #44 Last edited by Alvin; 03-26-2013 at 11:27 PM. |
