The motor made 838hp at 6800 and 709ftlbs at 5300. This was with no vacuum pump(had issues with it) and running too thick oil(100 psi oil pressure). This motor was not built as a max performance piece, but more for durability. It only has a 770 lift cam(std journal)and the compression is under 13:1. I'll run 110 fuel(cheap and readily available), not turn it to the moon, and hopefully have long head gasket life. The motor is in the car already and I'm calling about getting the converter restalled today. With the addition of the vacuum pump and lower oil pressure, I'd like to think it should pick up another 25-30hp conservatively. Hoping to get it in the 8's this year, but more importantly just make some laps with our nostalgia group and have some fun.

535 and I believe the heads flowed close to 400 at 0.800.

Peak torque(709) at 5300. It's Larry Quinns old Hogan intake with Edelbrock AFB's that's designed to look like a old bathtub SD intake.

Thanks. We can now run Holleys in our class, but I don't have the funds to switch over this year. Will run the AFB's and see what it does at the track.

Well, it looks like the best E heads ever made are close to 200 HP shy of King Kinsler's E heads.

I wonder if Jeff would have ran in the 8s with a set of those heads?

Sorry Hooter, all the best to you.

My compression is close to that and I am on nitrous and can go 25 passes on a set of head gaskets.

King Kinslers were more then that and he runs a whole season with his.

Holley's were worth 43 HP over my AFB'S/Comp. 750's on a Gutsram 2x4.
