I roughly calculated that it was in the real 1.3" range so I need to recalibrate my "Thumb Standard" a bit. Of course Leech has a Big Thumb.

Mike, dont you have 360ish WPs?
What exactly is that a pic of ? Its not a head, is it some sort of template ?
Mikes not going to give me the bird, we get along just fine.
You sure have that thing rolling. Today at the track I raced a 8.30 Bird (BBC) in Super Pro. I looked back in the rear view mirror 2/3rds the way down the track and it looked like he was standing still, way back there. Thought he had a problem. Then he flew by me the last 10 feet like I was standing still.
Wish I had that kind of top end speed. 11.18 @ 117 to a 8.30 @ 152

He lifted on ya! big time, his MPH shoulda been 160 + for the et. Thats a cut out of the port when i make the intake gaskets, Cant get any more accurate than that. If anything it stretches the material a fuzz when i tap them out.

Help you out a bit John.

If you take a typical E-head with the pushrod hole in the normal location and add a brass sleeve to the hole, you get Mike's head. His head is ported to the edge of the brass sleeve insert.

"There are tubes for the pushrods that cuts into the side number maybe .80 or so. more at the bottom"

If you are friend's with Vic Edelbrock, like Jim Butler was, and can get E-heads provided to you WITHOUT the pushrod hole drilled, you can then put the push rod where you want it, (using a shaft system), and you do not need the brass tube.

The head gets wider because you were able to drill your own location in the solid casting material vs do a "work-around" with the brass tube insert.

So yes, MIKE MAY NOT HAVE A WIDE PORT HEAD. He MAY have a Ported Normal head.

He might still be running a shaft system but the offset will be restricted by the head and brass tube location.

it will not go as fast at 3522lbs as it will at 3330lbs. seems simple.

However if i was to get someone to whine about putting weight in their car, and it was llijacks pa's car or had cv1s i might just add the weight. strait forward.

i Would prefer to race jacks dad in the q 16 tho....

Yes he lifted, my pal at work does all the work on the car. He usually runs 162 mph.
The car was a real 86 Pro Stock ride, been updated to current specs. Light as hell. 555 with heads that only flow 380. Same heads on a 488 ran 8.20. We all told him to keep the heads on the small engine. Now he makes so much TQ it skates around a bit.
Could have had the car for 12K at one time.

Tom , Mike had a stock set of heads already, I welded the push rod holes and put them were they needed to be for the rocker offset that he has. Its only a .400 offset.

Did you really think you needed to tell me that info? If so you really have no clue about the things I do. And don't take that bad, its not meant that way.

Even when you are not being one you can still be taken as a Richard Head!

Make anymore passes this past weekend?

Mike, I bet that paint job is turning some heads.

Wish I could be at Norwalk. I think this years lineups should be one of the best ever.

Yes, the reply post was directed towards John Wallace.

The "Pile-On" post by George was expected and nothing new.

The post by me could have been worded differently listing John Wallace name vs just, "John".
So the "original sin" was on my part, not making it clear to John M which "John" I was addressing the reply to.

Mike Leech figured it out though. Mike Leech is a pretty sharp guy about reading stuff before he makes a reply.
