Well, it was a perfect day for a cruise but, my car is sitting in the shop with no seats or carpet in it. I took them out so the interior shop owner could put the Dynamat insulation in it! There was a mis-communication between him and his men and it didn't get installed when the car was in Ellijay.
He was supposed to be in town last Friday or Saturday to deliver my buddy's 55 Nomad but that didn't happen due to a last minute issue with the engine. Hopefully he will be here this week.
But, the weather is supposed to take a nose dive so I wouldn't be driving it anyway.
I haven't updated totals for a while so here they are. I bought a set of trim rings from a fellow PYer for $95.00 and I just won an e-bay auction for a glovebox radio install plate for $62.50. It took me about an hour to take the interior out so, all total I have added another $177.50 to my total.

Well, the dynamat showed up but the body shop owner didn't. His brother was in a bad wreck last week and he had to get back home. I talked to him and told him I could put the stuff in. I don't see any major problem installing it so I will try to get it done this Thursday. The big swap meet is next weekend in Moultrie, Ga. And I will be there Friday and Saturday. It takes two good days to see all the cars and swap meet stuff.
I haven't done anything to the car since last time.

Well, I still haven't installed the dynamat but it actually turned out for the good that I didn't. I was walking around the swap meet Friday and, as usual, was not finding anything Pontiac. As I walked by one vendor's table I saw a black knob on a chrome handle sticking out of a box. When I looked in the box there was a complete His and Her shifter. I asked the seller what he wanted for it and after a little haggling I walked away with it for $350.00. It came with a new cable but I am not sure it is the right one. That is the only thing I found that I could use.
Now, when I take the interior back out of the car I can swap out shifters and be done. But, I want to replace the console harness while I am there and that is coming for Christmas (I hope!).

Well, between the freezing weather and Thanksgiving I didn't do anything to the car other than drive it to a customer appreciation at a local tire dealer Saturday morning. There were about 30 cars there and I was very surprised to see 2 65s, a 70 or 71, and a late model GTO on display. There were new cars, rat rods and ricers. There was a new Cadillac that put down rubber a block long when it left. I know city streets are not the right venue for burnouts but this thing made it look easy! He would have kept burning them except for a red light. But, other than the GTO's I liked the rat rod best. The guy and gal that got out of it looked like something from one of those magazines. She was dressed in skin tight jeans, a very nice fitting top and leather jacket. Her makeup was even done like the magazine girls. Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of her but here is one of the car.

I've seen quite a few rat rods around here. Some not so ratty and rather nice, and some like your photo. I can't understand how someone could drive it or it even be street legal. Visibility issues and ride issues are two that come to mind. Each to their own I know, but how safe are they.

I almost let Sunday slip by without making my post. I met a fellow Pontiacer who had a set of JA code 14" rally IIs that he isn't using so I tried one on the front of my car but it didn't clear the disc brakes. The caliper mounting bracket is just barely rubbing the inside of the rim. I could probably do a little grinding on the flange and make it work
My brake conversion came from a 72 Chevrolet so I may have to go with 15" wheels or keep the spacer on my 14s.
Other than trying the wheel and driving the car I haven't done anything more to it.
I did put the carpet back in so I can drive it for now. I will take it back out after Christmas for the last time, I hope!

Hey Y'all,
Just a quick note to say that I haven't done anything to the car as I am waiting on Santa. I wish he would hurry his fat butt up!
I wasn't going to say anything about a problem I found about a month ago but, this thread is about everything that goes on with this car so here goes.
I had a rattle behind the dash so I thought I would look up under to see if I could find it. I didn't but I did find something that made me run hot. The new dash wiring harness has been cut and spliced at the ignition switch! It was done in an effort to make the old universal ignition switch work. I had an original switch that I bought from Andre but the shop lost it and only found it a couple of months after I took delivery of my car.
To make a long story short I decided to order a new harness and will install it when I pull the interior out. I am not very happy about this.
With that being said I will have a dash harness for sale if someone doesn't mind the cuts made to it. It is for a car with console and gauges.

Wow...that sounds like the kind of thing that they ought to call you about before making the decision to cut. Amazing that they would think that a guy who has done as much of his own work as you have, would never, ever look behind the dash.
