was in Daytona a few years back and some guy had a white GTP with huge Richard petty autograph across the hood with black marker.

Thanz to MR AMC Guy for posting these two photos for me.

Referring to my opening paragraph here are the two sets of framed autographs I have from my Dad. These are in mint condition from the early 1940s. Most are personally to my Dad which is nice.

Course today the only one kids would have a clue is would be Walt Disney!

I will have more to come as I have quite a collection. Always seems value skyrockets when person dies.....

It happened to me, I had some posters made of the race car, gave a couple away, one guy asked me to sign it.
Ok, but... WTF...

I have Neil Peart from the band Rush. Rik Emmitt from the band Triumph. Rutledge Wood, Tanner Fousts and Adam Ferrara from Top Gear USA.

My mom was on the same airline flight from San Francisco to New York City in 1970, and The Greatful Dead and New Riders of the Purple Sage bands were on her plane, as well as Huey Newton, the leader of the Black Panthers out of Oakland. She got Jerry Garcia's autograph and Huey Newton's on the same airline napkin. What an odd combo. Also, she photographed the event, which shows a 26 year old Jerry Garcia in an airline seat and the members of both the bands dancing in the aisle (747). I have the napkin and scrapbook page with all the photos currently. She never even mentioned this event until about 2009....I never knew that it had happened! Strange indeed.

I get a few celebs (music & movies) coming into my bar on a semi-regular basis, due to our proximity to Hollywood and the Palm Springs Film Festival. Cindy Williams (American Graffiti) comes in pretty regular, Steve Miller, Nora Jones, Morgan Freeman, Phil Rudd (AC/DC), countless rock stars (& former rock stars). They're usually pretty regular folks and just like to kick back without being hero worshipped. I'm not an autograph hound either, I'd rather sit and talk with them for a while. That being said, I do have James Cagney's (in his autobiography) and Craig Breedlove's (on a poster in the bar).

Muhammad Ali w/ a picture of him fake punching my or my wife's head. He was a client where I worked. He and his wife are super nice people.

Have met others including Jerry Garcia, but don't really have the desire to ask for autographs. Try to respect their desire to lead as normal a life as possible.

I did get Jim Wangers to sign my '66 owners manual though. I thought that was a fun idea. Kind of like a book signing.

I have Mac MaKeller & Bill Johnson when I was at the 85 GTO nat's. Oh Like most I have the autograph of the man with the worst hair piece in the Pontiac world. I think we all know who that is.

Shelby was at Limerock, CT in 2002or the Shelbly American meet. That was a treat to meet him and talk for a bit.... but to shake his hand was 30 with the autograph, on a 30.00 photo for some vendor. Nice guy but you didn't want to cross him or he'd rip you apart. I did get to talk more and shake his hand again afterwards in the big tent where they were going to eat. That was free and meant more as he treated you as an equal, even if you were a peon. LOL Shelby's photo and autograph meant more after that. And it's one I won't part with. Autographs alone a few years before he passed away cost 150.00 or more.


Back in my college days we saw quite a few bands. Grateful Dead, Spanky and Our Gang, Jay and the Americans, Neil Diamond, and a couple more I can't remember. Didn't get any autographs from them because as soon as their shows were over they got the hell out of Dodge. LOL So much for going to college in a little NY hick town out in the middle of nowhere.

In 1982 when I was at Fairfield U. the Ramones came to play a concert. After the concert they came up to our floor in the dorm & partied/drank until well after the sun came up. I never thought to ask for an autograph, they were just some regular guys.

George W Bush, Yogi Berra, Bart Starr, Brett Favre, Ken Norton (Sr), and a lot of NHRA/NASCAR autographs. I met Michael Jordan when he was a sophomore at UNC on a school field trip to the planetarium in Chapel Hill. He was just walking across the campus. Unfortunately, it got lost over the years. That one would be worth some decent money today and a pile in the future. Oh well...
