I was more referring to the camera thing. He was buying a new car but didn't own a camera.

I had a little "Brownie" box camera but still had to ask mom or dad to get all the film developed (and pay for it).

Not like today, when everybody has a camera on them and can take "selfies" in front of the crashed airliner they just escaped from

I, for one, sure wish we took more pictures back then.

Here's Dad the last time he saw it in 2001.



I took on the project of restoring it in 1995 and Dad drove it for the first time in 32 years on Fathers Day of 1997.

Yep! Out the door mine was $3416. I put $400 down and the payment was $94.89/mo. Of course that was with a "favorite son-in-law" interest rate. 4.5% simple interest.

I've seen it, not long before you put it to sleep for a few years because you had to replace your cracked 428 block.

It's the car that earned you your nickname 'Old Man Taylor' at the street races. I know that it has gone 10.80s at around 130 MPH on squeeze with you rowing the 4-speed.

Don't worry, I'd never mistake a GTO for a Tempest.
