The tire separated under totally normal driving conditions, and you could see that it had been recapped yet sold as a new tire. There was a whitewall under the RWL sidewall. "They are all like that" was the response. They had been bought at Sears, who tried to charge me for a new tire until I told them I wanted my old tire back so I could take it to my product liability lawyer I used to work for. We settled on them just giving me the vehicle and not charging instead of giving me the old tire.

They are all like that. If you "curb" a RWL tire enough times.. it turns into a whitewall.
