I can not search on the site, I just picked this manifold up, any info would be good, rpm range, pros and cons. Thanks

The Warrior manifold is essentially the old Doug Nash manifold. It's really more for racing verses street use. Tom S. and Tom Vaught probably need to chime in on this one.

I run boost, just curious about it. Thanks

Coolest looking manifold ever made for a Pontiac! IMO. However I don't think it will be the hot ticket for a boosted application, the plenum is to shallow and the boosted flow will not like snaking around the four inside runners.

I traded it to a friend who needed a dual plain. Gave him a crosswind, even trade. Had no plans for the crosswind. I thought this looked cool too. It is super light!!

If you ever considered selling or trading hit me up.
I use mine on the street with a dominator, no problems whatsoever. |

I know some SS racers still using them.

Most of the fast racers that used the Doug Nash (or Warrior) single 4 intake at some point added plenum volume to the plenum. Either by cutting the bottom off and adding there or by a bunch of welding and runner raising along with the bottom modifications.
The intake needs about 40-50% more volume on a 455= engine vs the 366 engine the intake was designed for. Tom Vaught

x2 with Paul!
I have worked on a number of these and if the motor you will run this on is of 440 cid or larger and the heads have had the intake runner at the flange sized up to the RAiV gasket size and or the heads flow more than 260 cfm you will need to increase the runner expansion rate from what it is stock at the manifold flange all the way into the Plenum! This is a ton of work if you want the most from this manifold and if you have the hood clearance and you are not heart set on this manifold a Victor would be far and away the thing to run!

Agree with the comments above. If you look at the development time line for this manifold, very few Pontiac engines were over 430 Ci In. The big engines were 421's and 428's were new engines. A great ported head in those days would flow 240-250 CFM @ 28" of water. Oh, how times have changed. It's a great manifold for it's day and great looking too. I would consider using on a hot 400 or a medium effort 421-428. For all the modifications needed to bring it up to today's head flow and performance potential, an All Pontiac, BOP, or Victor would be a much better manifold to start with as far as the work and time required. Before all this new stuff came out the Nash/Warrior manifold was highly prized.

Hello all,I have an original Nash I bought in the early 70's. Can it be modified to work on a 445 4inch stroke bracket engine as it is magnesium? Thanks

Sure can't weld it! Depends if you trust epoxy to drop the floor or have hood clearance to add spacers for plenum volume.

Don't ever let it get near a fire either. It will burn very hot for a very long time.
I will not use one of the things in Magnesium. Tom Vaught

I think these magnesium parts are great in survival situations! ![]() http://www.amazon.com/Friendly-Swede...re+Starter+Kit INSTRUCTIONS 1. Using the flat edge of the striker, shave the block to create a small pile of magnesium alloy. 2. Prepare your tinder next to the magnesium alloy pile. 3. Hold the flat edge of the striker against the top of the flint at a 45° angle. Slide firmly down the flint to create sparks. Allow sparks to fall onto magnesium alloy pile. 4. Use magnesium alloy to ignite tinder. Place burning tinder into fire. Don't suffocate the fire - build fire slowly using small pieces of wood.

You could probably get 10 times the value of the Nash intake if you could grind the manifold down to magnesium slivers (without catching the whole deal on fire).
The aluminum Warrior manifolds worked a lot better after being modded and welded on for the application. Tom Vaught

That's why it is so light. A friend of mine was working on a ford pick up, the radiator support was magnesium. He had it on the floor and wanted to see how it burned. He was changing it. He took a torch to it. It got going, he got scared, said it was like a huge road flare that he could not put out! He almost called the fire dept. had to let it burn out.

The one you have is aluminum. The original Doug Nash was magnesium- rare

I remember in high school chemistry lighting a thin strip of magnesium-Burned pretty hot and easily.

Aluminum is not with out its faults also!
For those of you who recall our nations Appolo space program in the 60s we lost 3 Astronuts in a capsule cabin fire, ON THE GROUND durning simulations!! It seems that in a pure oxygen atmosphere Alumnum will burn if you place even a small flame near it, and a electrical short did them in. NASA's redesign of the capsule delayed certain test of the Appolo system in orbit by two years, and yet we got to the Moon before the end of the decade!

A Intake like that could have a lot of potential as the runners were very good for the time and can be welded on and made even better. Deal is getting someone to weld a lot on the thing vs just buying a Victor Dominator intake for a few hundred $ makes more sense. You bought a piece of Pontiac History, a point in time. Just like buying an old 1962 421 SD intake manifold. Cool to look at but not much good in today's performance game. Tom Vaught
