Formula 1 turbo cars made over 1000HP on gasoline with 90 cubic inches 30 years ago. Turbo HP numbers mean nothing when comparing to NA or N20. Even Hondas are fast with a turbo.

putting a DOHC head on a Pontiac would be like putting fuel injection and ABS brakes on a Model T

Thanks for the offer, but that ship has sailed. It went South after I contacted a vendor who I know has contact info for Robin and rather than help he referred me to "7T2" who suggested I send him a pm. BTW I pm'd you also and never got a response but this was when the PY pm'ing system was just starting to have problems so maybe you never received my pm or I didn't receive your response.

Lil Jack,
If we are going by that picture, then they will not be running the engine either since the carbs are not plumbed. Dick / Bill, Looking good. ![]() Stan

Really. A SB Ford with 2 stages was running those numbers ay the same weight years ago.
I would hope they could do better than a 412 cid Ford Small Block engine (with a much bigger engine and 3 stages). Lets see some 7.40s. Tom V.

John Force went 3s with a Ford plastic body with a Mopar engine which is just as relevant on this site

The port and the chamber don't know what name is on the head. Since we don't race stock heads, it really comes down to the guy holding the grinder.
Any of the current heads can make big numbers in the right hands. Most heads are a compromise of some sort, E heads probably the most being a copy of a late 60's design. So running a good number with E heads is like an all white NBA team winning the Championship. Long live the Pontiac Racer. Carry on. |
