They have changed rules over the years. There have been a lot of "as cast" factory heads win races and set records. |

Is Ed the gentleman with the Ehead powered, dark colored 79 Trans Am?

The new motor has been great this year. Taking baby steps with the tune up then adding more power figuring out the chassis, transmission and rear gear ratio that has been the hard work.

However, it would be interesting to see some NA passes on both combos. Seems a lot of non believers of Fulton's NA HP. No one with a Pontiac that I'm aware of has made 1100 plus HP NA at 13:1 compression. Little Jacks NA base power ??? Would be interesting to see how much power adder they added. Possibly some opinions might change then. |

Yep, like George said, them racing na is pointless. Running a nitrous car na with any converter specd for a heavy hit will only bring naysayers rushing to Wallace calculator and calling bs. Best to line em up spray to spray and runwhatya brung.

I know the ET would be down because of convertor etc.. MPH down some maybe but possibly closer to gauging NA power than ET would be. In a MUCH slower car my mph stayed pretty close to best as I dialed convertor, gears, chassis, and launch and eventually ET'd what my mph indicated it should. Without touching engine or its tune ET dropped nearly .3 while mph barely gained. I hear you on the rush to Wallaces calculator. Some will be going there regardless of N2O pass or not lol . |

You can buy same ported casting as Fultons CV1 (max cast 330) with same valve job, same flow for far far less than a billet head + porting + valvetrain. It IS NOT a one off port. Bill digitized it over 3 years ago. Dick is not only one with this port, he finished his build sooner. Depending on how you intend to use it you might not need the shaft rockers or need as high a level valvetrain. Options obviously affect price. You can opt for lesser or greater port capability and other options as best fits your application.
And yes I get the budget thing. Its still going to be awhile before I can buy the entry level cv1's to replace my iron heads. With turbo's it just not a high priority. |

TRUTH! That would be a good evaluation of the capabilities of both cars/drivers/race combinations on the same track, same week-end. Tom V.

I see you post the black car on fb. Is that your car?
How fast has the purple car ran this year? Will it be at norwalk? |
