It's a huge business in Hollywood I guess. There are companies that have hundreds and hundreds of cars going all the way back to the 20's. 99% of them "back ground" cars, so often no where near correct, can have all kinds of running gear etc., just need to look the part.

I did this in the early 90's with the '71 GTO I bought new on 8-28-71. Spent two looong days sitting on my ass waiting for them to film two scenes that ran about 2 minutes each. They originally told me just to bring the car to a certain location and leave it for the day. I told them there was no way in Hell that was going to happen Had to repeatedly tell director to stop laying his ##@&* clipboard on the hood between takes !! God only knows what would have happened if I had not sat right next to the car for hours and hours while they fiddled around doing whatever it is they do. It was abundantly clear these people didn't see any difference between my cherished original unrestored car and a wheelbarrow being used as a prop. Would absolutely never ever do this again.

just got the money info. They want one month with the car, and want to give me 1000 bucks. I told them forget it. It not worth the litigation costs if something bad happens,

Bear in mind these types of people have about zero understanding of anything mechanical, vintage or rare ... to them it's just some stupid rednecks weird old car. Not only do they have no respect for your car, they have no respect for you, your life, your work, or your values.

Thanks for the support guys. it would of been neat to say the car was in a movie, but common sense says a grand was a lowball offer.
