Calipers might be a bit too exacting for what you were asking but I got about

6 19/64" fractional

Would be fairly close to 6.25".

From the very late 1970s or possibly 1980 - My buddy on the right in this photo just sent this to me the other day - his Mom probably took this picture before we headed out to a concert or something like that - Me on the left and his sister in the middle. That's my 1968 Firebird behind us. Ah the memories....not sure what I was cracking up about.

So it is the longer ones. Just trying to see if they repackaged the shorter ones as the longer ones at some point even though they were two different numbers.

That's good to know. I wonder if the chrome shop I use will deal with the used door handles? I've removed the return spring on one, but other than that it doesn't seem like a lot more is easily disassembled.

Here's one of the horn button extensions, used for many years, of course. Just showing the listing for my car.

546280 2.820 All A, F & G EXTENSION, horn button (w/formula whl.) . 1 1971 1972 2-84

Your car should have the longer door handles so the NOS ones are correct.

Here's another one of me next to the same 1968 Firebird in the high school parking lot about the same time frame.

Two things come to mind. I need a haircut and the Firebird needs a wash.

That's my friend Brett's car next to mine. A 1969....errr....Camaro.

This is before I got the torque thrust wheels and Radial T/As installed - the wheels came from the Camaro.

I think a girlfriend wanted a picture of me next to the car.

Yes, just one per car - I think I have enough of many parts to build 4 cars total.

Maybe I still have another lever around here, too. Trying to reduce excess but it is hard to keep track. At some point the mind does not seem to keep getting sharper.

Yes, the gauges with the higher temp numbers were Service Replacement parts for the earlier lower temp units.
To me, this is kind of like using the '73 dated talilamp lenses for a '70-72 car. They'll fit fine and work well, but not exactly identical.
Chad, I'd say you are correct in believing that the gauge assembly was changed before you got the TA.

I was under the impression that the PF-30 oil filter was installed at the factory during the '60's-'70's.

Also, I'm kinda curious how many have some reservations about running a 40-50 year old oil filter in their nicely rebuilt engine.

This is the list of applications in the Pontiac family that are in the lookup. Looks like the PF30 wasn't used until 1974 in the MPC. But, I did not remove the original oil filter from one of these cars ever.
