We took this cam out of the 400 that used to be in my 68 Firebird. Any idea what it is? I assume the 292 is the duration and the “H” is for hydraulic?

Yeah, a CC 292H10 should be a Comp Cams 292 Magnum.
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/c...w/make/pontiac That cam should be REAL nasty in a 400, especially without Rhoads lifters. |

Sounded real nasty. But had no torque with #99 heads. Didnt get going until you got over 3k.

Thanks Jim. Like I said, the thing sounded like a real beast. But wasn't, due to having 8:1CR, small valve heads, a real small exhaust, and a stock converter. The thing ran real hot too. It's getting a complete rebuilt now. Going with a roller cam and #670 heads. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

You would get better overall performance by porting your heads and running a Cam a tad on the small side of what you think you need!
That 292 Cam with less than 9.8 comp in a 400 must of been a supreme Turd?

I have a 292/286 in my RAIV 400 on a 110. Pretty choppy idle but runs power brakes fine.
