Lol, I was at the iola car show & swap meet yesterday. The Fonze was there with his motorcycle ( tribute bike I believe ) & also Eddie Munster with the dragula & the Adams family car (both tribute builds)

You guys sure that car isn't Aleutian Blue? Admittedly, they are awfully similar and I'm not sure which one is in the IDOJ photo..
Aleutian ![]() Nightshade Green ![]()

Looks blue to me, look at his pants, and his shirt looks to be light blue as well, unless it's that 60's technicolor thingy go'in on, but still, no way it looks green.
I think his socks are grey like his jacket, I've looked at it to long, it looks Aleutian Blue on a cloudy day lol. Frank

I am thinking the interior matches the paint color pretty close. Doesn't look black on my computer screen.
Check out where the sun is hitting the edge of the seat & compare that with his black shoes. They look worlds apart.

The one I remember was definitely more gray than blue. Much closer to IDOJ car.

Uh-oh...didn't mean to start a spirited debate.
I've seen that photo before and it never occurred to me that it was Nightshade, close to my favorite '68 color too by the way, I always thought it was blue. BUT having said that, these '60 metallics can really throw you when you factor in photographic characteristics, lighting, age of photo and so forth. The only thing I know is that we will probably never know...lol

Nightshade Green - is not Green
it is a Charcoal Grey Metallic - like Buick called the color. Quote:
The car is a closer match to the charcoal color of the insets on the Rally II Wheels. His shoes are patent leather of the day , like cops and fireman still wear. Blacker than anything on earth. lol His hat is really black too. The tires are almost brown. Not enough being taken into account - and most men are color blind anyway. But if anybody wants to call it blue with blue interior - thats cool. but its not

I'm not saying you're wrong BVZ, just that it never even occurred to me that it was Nightshade...and yes, I know what it looks like. One of my favorites. It does tend strongly towards the grey scale..but it does show some green to me. I don't think I'm colorblind at all.
Just for kicks, and this is for everybody, what color is this one?

Nightshade Green ? ? ? I'll tell what was green, the chit they roasted for lunch that day, heh ! It does appear it could be, "letz jus call it Nightshade shall we"? as mentioned though, hard to tell. As for the other one Greg, looks like possibly Verdoro ? BTW I think you totally high jacked your own thread, if that's possible. Not that I mind, I'm thoroughly enjoying the ride... ![]() Frank

This is the Pontiac version of the blue/black or gold/white dress or "laurel and "yanny".

As for the promo shot...I honestly think that it could be the same car and both of them could be Nightshade. Just shows to go ya'....these metallics can be tricky, especially in older photos. That actually DID cross my mind at one point..lol

68 Malibu cream puff survivor - factory paint - code V
Can you guys tell why you think the GTO is from Partridge Family - not IDOJ ? That's not the Partridge house, and that isn't Ruben Kincaid. Can't remember his name, but he is older-taller-and has a bigger nose than the guy who played Kincaid. He did a lot of small parts on a lot of shows. Ruben always drove Chevy's on Partridge show , iirc. In case those were the reasons ? IDOJ always used new Pontiacs - mostly GTO's and upper level Birds |

For reference, this is a Nightshade Green 1968 GTO, two-tone with a white roof, original owner.

I'm gonna quit while I'm behind. Looks like I'm wrong on everything in this thread. I did think that was Reubin Kincaid which is why I thought it was The Partridge Family.

Well, I did learn something, I don't know anything about the Partridge Family, or what the Partridge Family house looks like. I also don't know what Reubin Kincaid looks like, and apparently It's possible I'm color blind... ![]() Frank
