I am glad you have a working power steering system again, that was the goal. When you take the pump apart again, the first thing to look carefully at is that pump outer ring as I mentioned earlier. Here is how to tell if it's in right side up. When you pop off the large round wire retaining ring from the end plate and remove the sheet metal plate, that will expose the pump ring. The cast-in stylized arrow should be facing up toward that plate and retaining ring. If it is upside down, the arrow will be facing down and away from where you can see it with the cover plate off. I am confident if that ring is upside down and you flip it over and put it back together, it will work. Other than an occasional leak at a seal or a rusted out reservoir, those pumps are very reliable. You will end up with a good spare.
