Retired "Commercial Highway Engineer".... aka Truck Driver for 35 years +. Hauled new cars made by GM, and Ford on a gradual basis (back hauls out of other terminals). Plus a few by Mercedes, Toyota, and Volvo. I got to see the lower US from coast to coast from New England to the Pacific Ocean, below US 44 and US40.
Tho I did spend 2 and a half years at Eastman Kodak in the 70s in Rochester, NY learning to be an alcoholic. Thank God I failed that and got the hell out of there. The job wasn't all that great either.

Was a software engineer for 20 years before that. Enjoyed the software engineering way more.

I'm an electrical engineer, this is my 40th year in the business. I work for a consulting firm; most of my work is on municipal water and wastewater treatment systems, but years ago I had a civil firm as a client that designed traffic signals and I sub-consulted to them for the electrical portion of the job. It was interesting work.

I never got out to their plant, when we had training, they sent reps to the dealer I worked for outside of Pittsburg east side, Greensburg PA.

The parent company name is Allegheny Clarklift, Allegheny Aerial Lift is the division I worked for. It was located in Hempfield industrial park. The owner just passed away in the last year, his name was Bill Scott.
That job I started working at in 1988. Up until then I had been in automotive mechanics since 1969, it was probably the best career move I ever made. Good hourly pay, compared to working on vehicles, no flat rate, better benefits, much better working conditions, company vehicle, because I was a road service tech, and traveled to where the rentals were on site, or worked on customer machines at their location. I actually liked working for that employer. I didn't dread going to work, best job I've ever had.

I see you're in California, were you at NASA Ames? Many moons ago I worked for a company that designed and built wind tunnels, we did some work out there but more so at Langley in Virginia.

My brother-in-law was a wind tunnel operator at the Langley NASA facility. That was back when Winston Cup race teams, such as Penske, would rent time.
