I think what is holding back the idle is the X-pipe. I have changed all my cars to H-pipe. each car's idle was held back in terms of deep sound and the lope of the idle. In each case, it changed the sound to the way I want the car to sound like a muscle car. Here are a before and after video of my 1970 GTO running a 461 with the off the shelf XR 288. It is the same cam you have except the LSA is 110. Before: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EoYVfvmtuX8 Exhaust is Magna Flow with X-Pipe After: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GYMaDAeOO3g&t=47s Exhaust is now Flow Master American Thunder Series with Texas TA mufflers and H-pipe. Big difference in sound. Last edited by napster; 12-31-2022 at 11:05 AM. |
