Just wanted to send a gracious thanks to Hammertime! He removed a filler from his car and sent it to me as a loaner. I will be starting a new post showing my progress as I go on this journey to reproduce these.

Thanks Baron, Stan is doing the hard work. I am in the middle of quarter panel replacement and was right there so I cut out the part and sent it to Stan. Let people do what they love and I hope it helps keep the sexiest cars alive another 50 years.

I will check up on the current time availability on the upper fillers. It has been about 4 months since they went into production. They may be "on the water" now. I don't think the tariff will be an issue as these are made in Taiwan and we already had a favorable exchange. Normally my Goodmark contact would notify me once they reach the US. Thanks for everyone's patience and assistance.

The fillers are in a container and being loaded as of now. Once they hit the water and ultimately end up at the Goodmark Kansas City warehouse, it will be about 8 weeks. If Stan can get the 2 remaining pieces produced, there aren't many parts for these cars to be done. I'll post once they are available. Many thanks go out to Chris Eagle for providing the samples if I haven't mentioned it previously.

Thanks Ron for all the work you put into the parts you have done!

I have the sample 3D modeled. Working on reverse engineering to make dies. Have the Fusion 360 step file at the machine shop now. They are having issues translating the NURBS to CNC code. We will figure it out.

So far I bought a 3D scanner and had to learn 4 different software’s to get to this point…

1st one is 3D print of the samples (one is mirrored) I only had 1 side to reverse engineer.

Local machine shop is backed up pretty good. Hopefully have one side of the dies made end of summer. I researched having other shops machine them. The cost was 300-500% higher for the dies. I just don’t think I can recoup that buy in cost.

Therefore I am waiting for the local shop. The company I work for does a lot of business with them so the reduced pricing is based on that relationship. They do amazing work so the quality will also be unquestionable.

That is great to hear Stan, I am glad you found someone that’s willing to work with you on a fair price. I’m waiting on the upper fillers and hoping those are available soon. Thanks again for stepping up.

I finally made enough progress to make an update.

Dies are done, now I’m finalizing the die fixtures. Had to make some upgrades, needed to add chrome shafts and linear bearings to keep it from binding when pressing them together.

Stamped a passenger side and it’s darn close to a used original. Gonna send off a pair to Hammertime to see what he thinks. He stepped up and cut one off his car for me to reverse engineer.

Have to set up the fixture to hold the drivers side dies and get one of that side stamped.

The next step is to hand trim and send them off to him.

After I thumbs up I will need to figure out the best efficient way of trimming them out. Anyway here are a few pics.

This is the piece I sent to Stan. He’s doing all of the time and money to make these available, so he has stepped up to make one of the last reproduction pieces that we’re not available for our cars. I am appreciative of all of his help and knowledge as well as the others who are helping with my rebuild. I love seeing the Pontiac brand live on and a big thank you to Stan for his efforts.

Hammertime has test fit the panels and reports that he is happy with the fit.

I plan on making sets or singles available soon. Still working out the business side of it all. In the past I kept it simple, cash, check or other simple forms of payment.

If anyone’s interested, I will be selling them for $125 each side or $200 for a pair shipped in the 48 states.
