Finally got this done with some mixed results;

- ordered the PUI ABS perforated black vinyl unit from Jeggs
- showed up in a box rolled up 😒
- let it sit long time on garage floor with some weight on it
- buddy came by yesterday and pulled old one out - cardbored
- took the new one out of the plastic and it had a f#%#% crease in it
- put torch to back of it and the crease is somewhat gone
- the glue they used is in weird pattern and the vinyl looks like it has tiger striped high spots all over it - sigh - huge pain to send it back from Canada - pressed on
- some of my side clips were worn out with no teeth so looking for those
- unit went in ok with some trimming required
- lining the up the sun visor screw holes was nitemare but finally done

So, no more saggy headliner but still doesn't look great. I don't think I'll buy from them again.

There are low spots on each the driver and passenger side because the ABS doesn't conform to the sloping roof line. Other than spashing some kind of glue in there I'm not sure what can be done because the ABS is flat yet the roof is not. Only the side clips and dome light holding her in.

Did you guys run into this?

Too bad youre in canada & returining it is a hassle.. because if it has striped lines or uneven spots from the glue its defective or not what they should look like. I havent installed mine yet but the perf vinyl is very smooth & even. If you bought it from Jegs & it has defects they should work with you to return it or get another one sent out. But if you installed it already that might not be an option.

Mine is also not flat, there is a noticeable curve to the back sides to meet the roof contour, probably wont be perfect or as good as the factory cardboard backer, but there is definitely curvature to it.

Can you post a pic to show the problem areas?

Ya I prolly should have just ate the shipping and double doodie but hard to align the planets to get things done so I guess it is what it is.

The dang wife dropped my pristine phone this weekend and cracked my camera - now I have a not-camera-phone...great week 😒

Yes, it looks good and the front and the back however it has a slight sag on each side. I'll try to get newer clips and maybe it will pull it out but was just wondering if you had the same experience. The ABS is pretty heavy I guess and nothing supporting it from behind.

Yeah Im expecting some fitment problems in the rear corners but might try heating that area & adding a little more curve to it.

If it was defective/damaged Im pretty sure Jegs or PUI would cover returning it or sending a new one, they probably dont want that one back since return shipping isnt worth it to them, probably have you send pics if they are willing to help, maybe a partial credit?

Been awhile since I bought from jegs, but summit has always taken care of issues like that when Ive had a problem. If its a recent purchase you could still try calling, tell them about the problems with glue but dont mention its installed yet and see what they say??

That's not a bad idea and worth a shot.

Just to say, I only use 3M Super 77 spray glue anymore, have not found anything that comes even close to it.

If you get an ABS one, the 3M Foam Fast 74 works best.

And yes, heat & moisture cause them to droop. Behind the side glass (above the sail panel) gets a lot of moisture, unless you drive 100% with the windows all the way closed.

Doesn't seem to be anything to glue the sides that are sagging a bit from the weight of the ABS.

Pretty sure he meant to glue the foam backed vinyl to the backer board... havent heard of gluing the ABS headliner to the metal roof or of a product that would hold it reliably.

Any luck having jegs or PUI refund or replace your defective looking headliner??

Still worth a call IMO.. might not need pics if you describe the problem.

Also, you can buy a decent used digital camera or older phone for about $20 that will at least let you do digital pics again.
