Great to hear your all fixed up and working again. When the blade manufacturers quit selling refills, it made life more difficult for our older cars.

I try to comb eBay for Trico or Anco wipers. Sometimes, you get lucky and someone will be selling old stock. Assuming pre-1990 manufacture date (arbitrary date; pre-89? pre-92?), still new in the box, the rubber should be fine, unless subjected to high heat or extreme cold in storage.

I wish new wipers today were made of such sturdy stuff, but alas, even tires don't withstand age these days.

I just ordered 18" rubber refills from Amazon. They don't have the metal or plastic frames. I cut the old rubber blades out of the metal frames and fed these in. The look like they will work. I have them on the car but I have not tried them. I'll let you know if they fail. The rubber was the same width as the old ones.
