I think you are right on that.
There is a difference in E heads vs High Ports, but its not huge. 420 is the best E heads and 460 is the best High Port. I just wish Mike could have had the chance to get the 480cfm out of them he though John had in him. We are talking moving the intake valve around. Would have been awesome. |

The E head will always and forever be the most popular aftermarket aluminum Pontiac head. Any other head does not have the slightest chance of beating them. Even if you did not count the E heads sold in the past, just the ones sold from here on out the E head will be the most popular by a wide margin. Maybe your sucking up will work. But here is the problem. Even if you get a great deal on RAV heads it will be VERY expensive. New expensive cam, intake AND headers. For performance use, they need to prove they are a step up from the less expensive heads. E heads, High Ports, Super Wedges and Tigers. Cv-1s (thats easy) More NA performance, NA is KING. Even beating the E head record of 1200HP will be a tall order. It will be tough, there is a obstruction in the port. Danny E has a shot at making good power, lets see how he does. But the heads do need to prove, money wise that they can straight up beat a standard inline head. Otherwise they are a very nostalgic, cool part that makes very good power, just not the most. Thats not a bad thing. Now if you want to talk real boosted power, the Wilcox RAV heads are the ones. They have made FAR more more power than Chief has ever made. Or anyone else. Its a true Pontiac race head. Nothing nostalgic about it, just a straight up inline valve Pontiac RACE head. |

Dragncar stop and think. Fultons 540 made 1095 HP at 13:1 compression and cam NOWHERE near optimized for NA use. Vacuum pump not working well either.. What's 2-3 points more compression worth? Ask Scott what a cam and exhaust optimized for NA should do. The current Cv1 ports and race manifolding have no issues. The port technology utilized is same as used on current record holding promod motors.
I don't think 1200 hp Na race fuel from a 540 is an impossibility here. |

I dont care what what CVs do Bruce. Quit injecting them and Twin into threads. I dont believe any of it.
You want to hitch your wagon to that dead horse go for it. Bet they never make another casting run. I do not believe for one second their latest and greatest ports and intakes solved their fuel distribution issues. People that KNOW thought of that head at best equal to the E head. You just cant do it can you. Give you a tiny bit of room, a response to some meaningless blip you wrote, and you go "CV and Twin". Their ports are half cocked, twisted. Fuel and air is getting turned AWAY form the crab and slammed into a wall. Thats a problem. Real heads have straight shots. Go take your snap, crackle and pops elsewhere.Your circle did nothing when George lied about his weight. They re old news, and bad news. Consider yourself frozen. |

Enough of your non sense.
I don't have nothing much nice to say about you either. You believe what you want. I cant change that. You would think being Pontiac fans we could just ignore our differences, but its obvious you don't want to. You can consider me "frozen" whatever that came from or is supposed to mean.I consider you a moron for blindly believing everything you've been told. You seem quite gullible actually. You don't seem to realize that some of those early "experts" you believed on early cv development have proven to be dead wrong. Obviously I'm not changing your mind, and at this point I don't want to. Build your dream motor bracket racer. Hope its a success for you. I'll build the motor/car I want to do dragweek type events. and have fun with. I love driving my Pontiacs ! Suspect we may end up just as fast as each other. BTW... I actually have high regards for some of the folks you admire. Highly question the honesty and integrity of some of the others you admire. |

It seems snap, crackle and pop have made a appearance in another thread. More to follow. No one is going to build a NA, pump gas, stock block,Cv engine that will have the slightest chance of keeping up with me. If he makes any power at all the block will split.

Do you think you're setting the bar pretty high for yourself with all your talking? Curious do you have a goal in mind for when this engine will be completed?

Who says I'm staying with a stock block? The good 59 is probably getting some mild ported 4x,7's and a pair of turbos. Plenty to exceed 1000 HP under 6000 rpm. Probably end up with a 4" Ohio forged crank. So figure maybe 433 ci. Mild efi maybe on old HSD intake. Intercooled pump gas under 6000 rpm. Should live just fine.
I plan on aftermarket block for NA build. 4"stroke 4.255 bore makes for 455 CI. Running different combo possibilities to see what I can do on pump gas. I'll use the heads you don't believe exist KOOLAID boy.

Could not run enough cam and RPMs to get it done. Especially if its a 4" stroke and only 455ci, not a chance. I will send Frank a big deposit on the aluminum IA2 within the next couple weeks. Then the other major engine part I dont have is the rods. The Molnars are under 800$ so it wont be a issue. I hope to have it done for next season. But I am also putting a roof on the house before the winter. You tell me what it is going to make. Its not as bad as your build but its mine. IA2A, 4.35 bore 4.5 stroke, 535, 11.75 CR, Lil Jacks/Gabbys 408cfm E heads, all the best stuff, 1.8 T&Ds, Jessel rollers, Scott Browm cam with at least .830 lift, Tiger intake blessed by John Marcella topped by a Dale Cubic. Its going to run, I know that. 850 with ease I say. How far I get past that, we will see. 900HP goal. So I might end up with the most NA E headed Pontiac pump gas power. 15 minutes of fame. In a very small pond. But its our pond. |

RA5 expensive ............"I don't think so Tim" ........anyone (that is stepping up) and buying a set of 370cfm of larger heads will need to buy another set of large tube headers (no one starts off with 2 1/4" primarys), a larger camshaft (to take advantage of the better flowing heads) and a better intake (P4B just aint going to work)! LOL DCI RA5 heads as cast start off at 380 CFM with standard rockers (no rocker shaft needed) can't do that with e-heads! So all that BS you and your TWIN over on the PZ web site is just smoke & mirrors, all those items will have to be bought no matter what performance heads a racer steps up to! NOW as for those H & M heads (that no one has) who wants to mortgage their house when there are other performance heads that will go 500+cfm (Warp, DCI RA5, etc.) that are FAR more affordable........just saying!
