I Just put my 455 4 speed back in the car. Put the clutch linkage back on with the new return springs, new clutch, throughout bearing, clutch rod, new clutch arm?
Any way when I got it all adjusted...

well I went and pulled the pan, the cork gasget...

well I went and pulled the pan, the cork gasget was off a little but not enough to leak at all, but went ahead and replace the gasket and left the viton seal alone. Put oil in and tilted it...

Even though I dont have the proper tool to pack the seal, I did use a very large socket to pack the seal into the groove(SP?). It was the cap that I packed it into then I fished it around the crank...

I kinda agree with everyone about the oil pan, but its such a pain to pull the motor again if it isnt it. Is there a way to test it without putting the motor in.

I ran my 455 for about 10-15 min after i replaced the rear main with a viton seal, I lost about 1/4 quart from the rear of the motor befor I shut it off.It was starting to leak pretty good right...

Has anyone used the clutch fork from PY not the NOS but the replacement one. I just got mine in today and compared it to the old one. it seems a little longer from the point that the piviot ball sits...

Ok still not to clear on this, I think we are talking about the area where i used a cork gasket. goes around the rear main cap, correct. I did have a rubber gasket with a couple of triangles on it...
