400 - 400

I'm putting a 400 motor and 400 tranny in a 67 tempest. It came with a OHC 3 speed. Moved the tranny mount back, holes lined up. Had to shorten the drive shaft from, 60" to 59 1/4" used a 400 yoke....

Sounds like there isn't enough air moving through the radiator at idle. Do you have a shroud?

a fan clutch has an internal thermostat that locks up at a certain temperature, warm your car up, turn on the a/c, open the hood, there should be a lot of hot air coming through the fan.
