Contact shaker455 (Jeff) and I’d bet he can set you up with a very nice Quadrajet that runs perfectly right out of the box without a long wait. A well setup Quadrajet will give up next to nothing (if anything) in both power and fuel economy compared to fuel injection.

A Holley double pumper is also a fine carburetor but won’t get the fuel economy of a Quadrajet which is pretty important nowadays.
