So a lot of people are saying it isn't a great race head. But are we talking about a bracket car or a heads up race car? Because I think it might be a great head for someone bracket racing or running a 10.90 class .

Pontiac Racers have always been handicapped with poor heads. That's what's cool about an Ehead. You can drag a Brodix headed BBC down the track with a Performer RPM street head.

The e-head broke open the market for aftermarket Pontiac heads. People were finally able to lust for something other than collectors item RA4's. It's since been eclipsed by newer designs but you can never take away its contribution to the hobby.

Same comments about the Indian Adventures IA-1 blocks.

X3 , without E heads I believe we would not have anything close to what is available for us today. The second best thing were aftermarket blocks.

That is true, while the KRE's had been the go to head for years the entry of the E head seemed to push everyone's game up a notch. Granted they might have anyway, but the E probably speeded things along showing the potential market was stronger than initially realized.

Blocks are another issue. The ones out there now are great race pieces and I hope to acquire one for my next build, but I still think a lighter/cheaper sportsman/replacement block is needed since all we have is 40-50 year old used Iron.
A more affordable block may also keep some of the LS swaps out of our beloved Pontiacs.

I don't know any Pontiac's with "RPM street heads" that run 9.90s on pump gas at 3800 lbs.
The Brodix is a 270 oval - out of the box.

Sorry you didn't get the memo. Off the top of my head there is one in Kansas that goes 9.80's with RPM's.

BTW. ... Brodix makes more than one head for a BBC.

I would be very curious to see some specs on the Pont.
Suspect car is light or running race fuel, SS trim etc.

The Chevelle is 3680 lbs with driver not 3800 as I believed.
505 with 10.5 compression
UDHarold 255/263 @ .050 solid roller.
Brodix race-rite oval.
RPM intake.

Another member here has a 461 w/ 350 cfm eheads, 10 to 1 pump gas car. 3100lbs plus him (200) 10.20's no power adder.
