So a lot of people are saying it isn't a great race head. But are we talking about a bracket car or a heads up race car? Because I think it might be a great head for someone bracket racing or running a 10.90 class .

... the other part is to my knowledge there's only one engine that has made or exceeded 1000hp N/A and that's Leech and Co. so i wouldn't look at that as an automatic thing, those guys have done a great job with a big pair of hand cuffs on, but impressive to say the least, at this level one of the key limitation gets in the way, which is CSA, but they've done a great job working around it, but just not the norm for any other EHeaded combo certainly, i'd say for Pontiac engines the list of poeple that have made 1000hp or better is fairly short ... ... what i'd personally like to see is a set ov my CV-370/Raceplate heads on Leech's engine with one of Marcella's bad boy manifolds on top, now that would be very interesting IMO ... I agree that would be interesting. Do you have "off the clock" access to a dyno at Sonny's?

Based on it's performance, a set of eheads ported by Tom Slawko made over 1K hp on a 525 engine. It is currently owned by Karl Owens (KO) on here and is for sale in the parts forum. BTW that engine was built in 2009.

One mite ask what is the definition of a "GREAT RACE HEAD".
Did that not start in late 1954?

The e-head broke open the market for aftermarket Pontiac heads. People were finally able to lust for something other than collectors item RA4's. It's since been eclipsed by newer designs but you can never take away its contribution to the hobby.
Same comments about the Indian Adventures IA-1 blocks. Eric

Another nice feature is they are available without pushrod holes so you can easily put them where you want.
If you know the right people they can be had without the guides and seats installed. Last edited by PAUL K; 09-21-2016 at 08:22 PM. |

Eheads are easy to make look like a factory head.
